  • I have most of their original albums. During a time when there was a plethora of folk groups these guys (and the Chad Mitchell Trio) stood out as being 'different'. Glenn's lyrical voice a great feature of their music.

  • I attended NYU in the Village during the golden age of folk music. Was fortunate enough to see the Limeliters at the Bitter End on Bleecker Street in 1962. Fabulous show! By the way, who are those four guys in the photo anyway?

  • i have the original records, my parents left them to me. i remember being 3 or 5 and listening to these. love them

  • Been looking for this forever, thanks a million. Almost missed it due to the picture is not of the original trio.

  • I've been hearing this song since the album first came out (my parents were big fans), and I still get chicken skin at the last verse.

  • There was a time when a small group of people could entertain an audience without a huge sound system and a 200 light rig. All they needed was talent.

  • @Blackcatholman Talent! THAT"S what's missing these days. Rappers, viva's, looks, escapades, notoriety, everything but talent.

  • The erroneous picture is of The Limelighters who were a barbershop quartet out of Canton, OH.

  • Wrong Picture!!! I've been to three Limeliters concerts.

  • I only went to one concert by the Limeliters. That was over 50 years ago and I still count it as one of the most memorable evenings of my life. Thanks guys, I miss you.

  • Love this medley. Lost this album during a move about 20 years ago. The Limeliters were so much a part of the music I listened to back in the '60s.

  • I had this album in college and I love the Civil War medley. Thanks for posting this. Hadn't heard it in more than 30 years.

  • Terrific ! I had not haerd them do this before. They were great.

  • One of the songs is featured in Disneyland's attraction Mr. Lincoln. I've never heard the whole song before. Cool!

  • Great songs, but the picture is not the original Limeliters.

  • @Lindybill

    yes I know, you're right, it's a mistake...

  • Great songs, but the picture is not the Limeliters.

  • @Lindybill Actually ... the song refers to the golden buttons as rusting, not because they actually rust, but because of what they look like when they have been bled on ...

  • Gold doesn't rust, actually. Neither does brass for that matter.

    Norm (Just being picky!)

  • @theshadow1932 LOL!

  • Thank you so much for posting this. My dad had four limeliters records that I listened to all the time as a child (1960s & early 70s), and I've enjoyed listening to some of their songs again on youtube. So glad that you've posted this one.

  • I haven't heard this for 30 years. Thanks for reminding me.
