@adames999 My guess is the camera man was sitting on the back of a pick-up truck and slid off the end when he started to follow him. Pretty sure he's moving too fast to be using a dolly, but he could be.

@OfficialCypherSon I can't speak for everyone, but I chose the Canon T3i over the 5D. They have the same chip so the video quality is the same for both cameras. The 5D has a fixed LCD screen, but the T3i has a screen that pops out and swivels for different angled shots. Finally, the T3i costs about $850 (with an 18-55mm lens), while the 5D is around $1600 for the body only (no lens). I just shot a short film and 2 weddings on my T3i and it looks just as professional as the 5D.

Seriously "WW2" guns like M1 Garands, Mosin-Nagants and 1911's are so commonplace both in toy "Airsoft" versions or in real firearms that it's really not hard to get a bunch to fill a film compliment. Also, if you're hard up for arms or replicas, contact your VFW chapter or Surplus Arms dealer in your region. Many know links to re-enactors, museums or hobby shops that specialize in just that. Making it would end up costing more in the long run

Excellent test film. This should definitely be lengthened... Perhaps not one continuous shot, but I'd watch this kind of intrigue/action genre and be glued to the screen. =D

I could see the steady / fig rig was very effective, especially seeing the difference between close up and long distance shots. It was good you chose the aliens/action genre for this shoot, as the slight movement of the camera adds to the feel and pace of the scene.
