im so sad when i hear the news 2040 there are meteor will come down here in earth , just now while im watching ,, :( i know my comment is not related but help me to pray in GOD . :)
can the karee pan be eaten cold? i'm planning to take them in a little bento for me, my sister and my friends at our next cosplay convention in March.
i guess the portugese had a large impact on japanese culture back during feudal japan... all these latin words like pan and stuff... at least I took spanish in middle school?
@ChrisSquareFan Curry powder is a mixture of spices, it really depends on the brand you're buiying. But usually it has coriander, turmeric, cumin, fenugreek, and red pepper. But is also verry common to find ginger, garlic, cinnamon, mustard seed, green cardamom, black cardamom and black pepper.
i think tofu dont have any special taste but looking at it this way makes my mouth water!i wanna eat it!im gonna make it fr my fam n not tell them i put tofu in it.LOL
I made this today for dinner and it was so yummy! I had to add about another table spoon of soy sauce to the mix because it need a little more taste to it for me. Other then that it was amazing! My friends enjoyed it greatly too. So thank you for the recipe!
Waoooo mmmm hi from Puerto Rico i don't speak english only basic words for that reason i only said i will try to do it ( sorry 4 my bad english) me encanto la receta la tratare gracias
Hey Runny~ I'm making this for my Japanese class, a cooking a project, and I want to bring this in the day it's due. Does this stay crispy the next day? Do you have any tips in keeping crispy ? Or should I just fry them in the morning? Sorry for so many questions ^^;
I love tofu so much! Ive never thought to make this ever cause i dont like spicy curry, but i think it being in the bread may reduce the spicy heat. Im going to cook this~!
yes you should definitely give it a try, it taste just as good as with the ground pork, because i made it 2 separate time: one with ground pork and another time with bacon. Try using House brand curry powder, its almost the same flavor as the curry blocks.
Hey Runny, try this pronounciation for Worcestershire sauce, remember worcestershire only has 3 syllables when pronounced correctly.
Try this: Wus--ter--shear or my wife's version -- Wis--ta--shear ( this is the way people in Boston, Massachusetts say it). I like the first way a little better, but ethier way will get you there, it's really not that hard to do.
I tried tofu in a salad once and found the texture to be very gross. However, I made tofu dumplings and really liked it! I have never tried regular tofu, just light tofu. do they have different textures?
@mynameishernz As far as I know, Sake is still called Sake in English and can often be found in regular grocery stores- usually in a section containing more Asian foods and ingredients. Good luck!
@xEmeraldCityx Really? I've never seen Sake in any stores. But I found Mirin! I was so shocked! I had never tasted it before and tried to do as many substitutions as I could before, but it was so different! Otherwise I have never seen Sake o-o.
@mynameishernz If you live in the UK then you can find Sake in ASDA (I guess Wallmart in the US) or Tesco usually in the alcohol section (usually somewhere on the top shelves). If you have a Chinese supermarket you might find it there also (and it would be cheaper).
I made this, it is very tasty and super filling! My husband and I even have left overs. One thing, the bread I found was Texas thick toast it did not seem as fluffy and light as the toast you get in Japan. And regular white bread is not thick enough and tore a bit. But I think for my first try at your recipe, it is a success. Thank you for making these videos, I enjoy trying them and posting my pictures online.
Yorkshire relish is a good vegetarian substitute for wostershire sauce. it dont have anchovies in it : ) and taste much better ... quorn or tofu instead of dead rotting flesh and you have a great vegetarian meal. I like the way you used the bread slices, I will incorporate that method into the snacks i make ... Great stuff
I can't believe you did a non-fry curry bread as well, to me, that is very helpful! I've had some bad experiences with frying in the past, so this is great! Thank you!
@MrsSamyify Here's my two cents worth: Actually, you can use normal bread crumbs, if you can find those at your local supermarket. However, Japanese bread crumbs are a tad different, resulting in Karē pan which is crispier and light [I don't really know how to explain it well, but it becomes like the coating on those ebi tempura you can find at Japanese restaurants].
@makaka00 there are soy based ground meat you can buy. instead of meat you can use shitake mushrooms and cabbage combination with some white vinegar and a lil soy sauce. vinegar and soy sauce is not needed if you don't want to imitate meat flavors. if can stand on its own.
