I'll tell you why. Did you know when Castro and his goons seized power in 1959 they put teenagers in jail for listening to rock and roll and dressing like American kids? They called them "re-education camps". Those people are still in power, pal. And your tourist dollars will go straight into their very same pockets. And who the hell is telling you it's O.K. to go to Teheran?
You got great taste in music, my friend. But you are naive in the ways of the world.
@tomthefunky From the State Depart. That's "who in the hell" "Pal". (Pal my ass) Quote: "The Department of State warns U.S. citizens to carefully consider the risks of travel to Iran." As for Cuba, I can travel to China where we've outsourced all our manufacturing jobs and owe China a ton of money so you can go to Walmart and buy cheap crap. And you're worried about 1959 Rock 'n' Roll and re-education camps? If you don't want to go, don't go. Go to France and let them spit on you. Dumb ass.
@9thWardBluezBox:I'm still trying to figure out your point. In your description box, you said "crooks, perverts and menopausal women (what that has to do with anything I don't have a clue) tell me I can't go to Havana but it's o.k. if I visit Shangai or Teheran". Then you reply to me by telling me the State department warns U.S. citizens AGAINST going to Teheran. Which is it? What are you talking about?
Go ahead and visit Cuba. Just ignore the secret police who'll be following you around.
@tomthefunky You obviously are not familiar with our "lawmakers". (Crooks, perverts and menopausal women.) It is the law of this land when I or a Canadian gets off a cruise ship at the Port of New Orleans, their Cuban Cigars are confiscated. That's not an action of a country claiming to be a "land of the free". My quote of the State Depart. was warning U.S. citizens to "carefully consider" going to Teheran, not "against". The point is, I can legally go to Iran but I can't legally go to Cuba.
