Wanker, I don't care about the arguement, but every plane will have a crash. The first was by the prototype model. The second was by the pilot blacking out in the production model. Every plane will have a problem but we fix them. It's like saying you suck because you're not perfect. That's just not true. Nah, all that's happened is the F22 has a few tech issues. Such a far reaching project is bound to go through difficulties & Obama was unwilling to put anymore money into the project.
What I suspect is that the F22 will be kept aside and only used in an emergency i.e China/Russia attacks etc.
From an ubnbias prespective this is a shame for aviation fans as the F22 can be an awesome jet man.

The take off was not meant to be "fast" speedwise, its fast as in it can take off in such a small distance. So in that sense, it is in no way underpowered. The plane can supercruise and hover vertically in midair, so it has an excellent thrust to weight ratio. If you want an underpowered plane, look at most jet trainers today. (Although I think this is done just to prevent trainees from overstressing the airframe)

Typical american announcer- biggin up the f22. The test pilot for the raptor flew the typhoon eurofighter and said it was just as quick and manouvable as the f22. He said they are two different aircraft and cant be compared. It does look heavy thou in the sky compared to the eurofighter.

it does have supercruise but it has to build up to it... after burner can get it to that point faster, or if it has a longer time to get to supercruise it won't use burner at all.
i might be late but super cruise. but super cruise is the plane flying over the speed of sound without afterburners. it improves on range and combat time it because it can fly faster longer and was tested and successfully launched missiles and dropped bombs at over mach 1 and hit its target.

The YF-23 wasn't as maneuverable as the YF-22. After all, they were looking for something that could hold its own in a dogfight, if it needed to, unlike, for example, the F-117. The F-22 was the better choice.
There's no proof that the 23 was faster, is there? As for the rest of your "-ers" the current F-22 is just as good as the YF-23 was, if not better.
Also factoring into the F-22 "win" was Northrup's poor record of cost overruns, and the 23's "stacked" missile bays was deemed more problem prone than the F-22's side-by-side layout.
Of course, politics probably played a role, but not nearly as much as some 23 proponents believe.

For their size and weight, F-22s are significantly powerful and agile. If you factor in their stealth, advanced avionics, high cruising speed, and integrated control surfaces and monitors, you realize they're completely lethal air dominating beasts. Keep in mind that so called dogfighting has been outdated for 40 years. F-22s outdate conventional fighter planes by a projected 20 years, and that's not including future technologies being incorporated into them.
There is tons different. Most countries (Russia for example) will strip an aircraft and customize their demonstration plane for air shows to make it more fearsome when actuality it can't pull off some of the maneauvers when loaded for combat. The F-22 can do everything in this video when loaded with bombs, missiles, etc... how do I know this? Because I watch it do this crap everyday when the 1FW goes out to fly considering I work up in the tower. This video hardly shows the newer stuff it can do

America went with the contractors that had the better record for delivering a product _ON TIME_. And whether the Widow was "a much better plane" is *LARGELY* debatable. Raptor is meeting, and in many cases exceeding, all expectations. Speaking as an "outside" observer (Canadian), I personally believe America went with the better (1st) choice.
I've seen shows on TV about this plane...everytime I see it no matter where I'm just like WOW, just WOW, not only is it the most versitile plane but deadly as well...very, very scarey stuff, I would hate to be a target of the Raptor.

People who ridicule the F-22 fail to realize that the U.S. is already working on it's replacement as we speak. Comparisons between the F-22 and Soviet era super fighters is not accurate. Aircraft like experimental SU family of fighters are more comparable to earlier wester experimental fighters such as: F-15 ACTIVE, X-31, X-29 etc. of the mid and late 80's.

How do you expect the F22 to go into combat if it's falling out of the skies?

Wanker, I don't care about the arguement, but every plane will have a crash. The first was by the prototype model. The second was by the pilot blacking out in the production model. Every plane will have a problem but we fix them. It's like saying you suck because you're not perfect. That's just not true. You fix your problems so leave the Raptors alone because they fix their few problems too.

Nah, all that's happened is the F22 has a few tech issues. Such a far reaching project is bound to go through difficulties & Obama was unwilling to put anymore money into the project.
What I suspect is that the F22 will be kept aside and only used in an emergency i.e China/Russia attacks etc.
From an ubnbias prespective this is a shame for aviation fans as the F22 can be an awesome jet man.
Not that it will effect your security as you have a great air force anyway.

Many Yanks are proud (rightly so) of their forces and see critisism as hating on them.
Thing is we and you have powefull fusion weapons so nobody will mess with us.
Even without the F22 the USAF can still be considered the most capable (note I don't use the word best as this is an irrelevant word - i.e what does best mean?).

lol, India have said no such thing, the Indians active airforce is the British Made Tornado.Singapore isnt a country....and China dont have the EF.The EF is in service, it intercepted a Russia Bear bomber over Norway,Its on active duty..The F-22 isnt....The EF along side the Knew British "jedi" helmet can actuallly "Dance" with a air to air missile,the F-22 has turned out to be tooo expensive, and not so stealth after all.

The take off was not meant to be "fast" speedwise, its fast as in it can take off in such a small distance. So in that sense, it is in no way underpowered. The plane can supercruise and hover vertically in midair, so it has an excellent thrust to weight ratio. If you want an underpowered plane, look at most jet trainers today. (Although I think this is done just to prevent trainees from overstressing the airframe)

Typical american announcer- biggin up the f22. The test pilot for the raptor flew the typhoon eurofighter and said it was just as quick and manouvable as the f22. He said they are two different aircraft and cant be compared. It does look heavy thou in the sky compared to the eurofighter.

For your info, Sqn Ldr Paul Godfrey had been on attachment in the US and has flown many US Planes. He said the Eurofighter was An F16 on Steroids. Anyway you are bound to be bias. If the Eurofighter wasnt anygood they wouldnt have built about 500 and sold them to 10 different nations.

Wrong, Raptor weighs twice as much as Eurofighter. Raptor has more power but Eurofighter will fly mach 2+ 1550mph. Raptor top speed is 1500mph. climb rate in the Eurofighter is more than the raptor.

it does have supercruise but it has to build up to it... after burner can get it to that point faster, or if it has a longer time to get to supercruise it won't use burner at all.

i might be late but super cruise. but super cruise is the plane flying over the speed of sound without afterburners. it improves on range and combat time it because it can fly faster longer and was tested and successfully launched missiles and dropped bombs at over mach 1 and hit its target.

The YF-23 wasn't as maneuverable as the YF-22. After all, they were looking for something that could hold its own in a dogfight, if it needed to, unlike, for example, the F-117. The F-22 was the better choice.

There's no proof that the 23 was faster, is there? As for the rest of your "-ers" the current F-22 is just as good as the YF-23 was, if not better.
Also factoring into the F-22 "win" was Northrup's poor record of cost overruns, and the 23's "stacked" missile bays was deemed more problem prone than the F-22's side-by-side layout.
Of course, politics probably played a role, but not nearly as much as some 23 proponents believe.

There is tons different. Most countries (Russia for example) will strip an aircraft and customize their demonstration plane for air shows to make it more fearsome when actuality it can't pull off some of the maneauvers when loaded for combat. The F-22 can do everything in this video when loaded with bombs, missiles, etc... how do I know this? Because I watch it do this crap everyday when the 1FW goes out to fly considering I work up in the tower. This video hardly shows the newer stuff it can do

America went with the contractors that had the better record for delivering a product _ON TIME_. And whether the Widow was "a much better plane" is *LARGELY* debatable. Raptor is meeting, and in many cases exceeding, all expectations. Speaking as an "outside" observer (Canadian), I personally believe America went with the better (1st) choice.

The Lockheed X-44 Manta, short for Multi-Axis, No-Tail Aircraft, is an experimental aircraft which itself is an F-22 with better thrust vectoring controls than f22.

For starters...SU35 is the new updated Sukhoi with stealch and new radar Technology...and the SU37 an exportation version primarily for India...It can detect a raptor 100 miles away...intercept it and kill both pilot and plane. Russians had woken up...don´t get wet your pants americans...

What put some people off the f22 rapter over here in uk and europe is that the BBC news showed the f22 wobbling like crazy when we saw it flew in the 1990s during flight tests. Anyway the f22 rapter was on the drawing board since 1981 and since there was an cold war going on the US wouldn't of known about the su 37s designs, 3D thrust vectoring capabilities (better than f22s 2d thrust vectoring) or backward firing missiles etc. Su 37 came out 10 years later than f22.

the Su-37 lacks the agility of the su-37 the only and lacks the electronic capabilites of the raptor. also russian pilots are not trained in low level combat. I was aircrew in the airforce the only thing russian pilots are trained to do is be at your 6 oclock and low to fire american aircrews are trained that fast and low is what to do when you get into a problem.

People who ridicule the F-22 fail to realize that the U.S. is already working on it's replacement as we speak. Comparisons between the F-22 and Soviet era super fighters is not accurate. Aircraft like experimental SU family of fighters are more comparable to earlier wester experimental fighters such as: F-15 ACTIVE, X-31, X-29 etc. of the mid and late 80's.

If you think about it america knows they would be defeated in an nuclear confrontation with russia. Because the pentagon already knows the topol ms (NATO SS27) can avoid all their ABM defence missiles, emp, lasers, nuclear blasts and still hit their target US Bases, cities etc but if america attacks using aircraft, stealth bombers, nuclear missiles they would all be shot down by the superior russian S-400, S-500 air defense missiles.

If the Russian SAM's are so good, why don't they shoot down the American, British, or Israeli fighter planes on at least an occasional basis? Or did they stop the U.S. air superiority efforts in Iraq, without my noticing it?

Who says anyone's planning to attack Russia anyway? A U.S-Russian war couldn't be fought without going nuclear. F-22's and S-500's would mean little at that point.

your talken about radars guy? the raptor has the most advanced AESA radar equpted in a fighter aircraft to date it has the ability to proces info at over 500mbs a second and has even wen to gigabites it also has the ability to overload or fry enemy radars

ha ha stop talking about your f-22 "stealth" cuz its all nothing in front of the mig-35 ; it uses the IR tech based on the Russian space technology,it can detect the f-22 through its engine or wing heat (the f-22 is stealthy to Radar)so your stealth is now nothing but crap ,this mig can detect any missile 50 KM away!!! if you don't believe me !! just check .

IRST/OLS are SHORT-RANGE (~35 NM at most, from the rear, under ideal condition) passive systems, and their performance decreases significantly in bad weather. F-22's radar works in any weather, and at a far greater range (100+ NM). F-22 will be able to get a missle lock on your MiG while still WELL out of IRST/OLS range. The MiG will never know what hit it. "Crap" indeed.

the mig has a new improved radar too not just IR man,and it can detect your missile 50 KM away .....even if you lock on mig it will detect the missile when it gets in "range" an destroy it,evade it, or just outrun it. lol
