She was getting 3.5-1 on a call, so that's a no brainer. And any grown man who gets that emotional with such a high pitched voice on every card will never last very long in this game, as it can be unbelievably cruel for very long periods and you have to always maintain your composure to play optimally.
as much as i hate tiffany michelle you can't criticize her call here. pretty standard with her amount of chips and the fact that your goal in a tournament is to eliminate the other players. She was getting roughly 3:1 pot odds by calling with less than 5% of her stack.
WTF, do any of you actually pay attention to the video? He says at the end that she is approaching 4M, where the fuck do you get that she had over 6M?
It wasn't a terrible call...big stack vs. small stack w suited Ace = insta call. Having said that it is frustrating when your the small stack with the pair and they hit their overcard.
hey all.. thanks for comments.. good and bad, but i played great, got in good and shit happens. Yes my "how do you make that call" was wrong in pot odds sense, but it was a gut reaction at the time. to get that deep and to lose like that...
I came 3rd in a satelite shoutout for a 12k package for the main event wen someone sucked out with k10 against my AK all in pre flop.Felt sick for weeks and didnt play any poker,But watching stuff like this makes me feel better lol.
@TwistedMetal32 Terrible call? That odds and a terrible call? Get your facts right son, she would have good odds against any high pair except for Aces here. People only thumb you up because they like to hit on Michelle for her bad behaviour.
@TwistedMetal32 People thumbing you up is 'nough sayd. I would highly enjoy playing against you, if you're the type of player that would not make that call.
Ignoring all the standard debate for calling or folding in that spot:
I'm personally glad Tiffany busted Podell just for his outdraw / redraw / outdraw reactions from showdown - river.
Also, very +ev for Podell to get knocked out at this stage of me imo.
If he experienced an outdraw like this nearer the final table bubble he'd have had a mental breakdown and be a vegetable right now, going on how he reacted going out 100th.
You really only need to control your emotions during the betting phase, before you show your hand. Once that's done, the players' emotions come out for all to see. It's Marc's reactions to each card, that made this hand enjoyable to me, and it's the emotions and the personalities of the players that make the WSOP so fun to watch. =)
Dude... she had over 6 mil chips at this stage. I'd call someone all in for 250K just for the chance at knocking out another player even if I had 7 2, it was just the 2 of them left
@funkacybin they say in the end after the hand she was approaching 4mill... so dont try to be smart trying to justify that stupid call, idiot. she barely had more than 3
Seems like people didn't realize I raised pre-flop to like 200k and Marc's push was only another 200k and change to me. I don't normally go around calling all-ins with A2 lol. You'll notice I laugh and shake my head because it sucks having to call with such a weak hand!
What hand was she hoping him to have when she calls with A2? I don't get it. She is dominated 95% of the time and only a slight favorite like 5% of the time.
You have to look at more than what cards you hold. You can't just say, "A2 is no good here. I must fold." You have to take into consideration the odds you are getting. A better Ace is somewhere around 70% to win. And as you see, a pocket pair is 68% (maybe a little more or less depending on suits). She is easily getting those odds to call.
I'm not the president of the Tiffany Michelle fanclub, but that call is pretty standard. She is risking 260K to win 717K. She's getting almost 3:1 odds and is only slightly worse than a 2:1 dog. She'd be correct to call even if Podell turned his cards face-up.
206K call to win ~700K, i.e. 3.5-1.. correct call mathematically with almost any 2, especially any Ace. She does suck at poker, but she played this hand fine.
I think she called just because the A2 were suited & they looked nice & pretty together, she had got pot odds to call but i dont think she realised it anyway, She really isnt very good anyway.
Wow, some interesting odds in these comments. I'd love to play you guys some day. 75% is 4 to 1? You must be the guys that get a weak ace UTG in the first hand of a SNG and insta-shove "because it's the nuts".
LOL, you say that because you can't feel the excitement of poker since you never win in your life. LOL. That's gotta fucking hurt. Anyways, Marc Podell's loud expression made this round so much exciting. It's much better to see the expression of Marc Podell than Phil Hellmuth, who bitches every round he loses.
Marc's reactions not only made this hand more exciting, but it's also one of the main reasons I posted this clip. He wasn't acting or being fake. He simply wore his heart on his sleeve, and I felt both his excitement, and his pain. I have respect for anyone who does well in the Main Event. But even more so for someone that finishes in the top 100 as Marc did. Definitely an awesome achievement.
Kolst8406 - totally agree, she was priced in and had to call. When I made that comment about her calling, it was just emotional reaction to the hand.
AK or AQ she is a 4-1 dog and not getting the right price. At the end of the day, i would put all my chips in every day all day with my hand vs. that hand as a 70% favorite.
Trust me, don't be so ignorant. There are donkeys out there where I can say I'm better than, such as Maria Ho. But Tiffany Michelle, she's been interviewing lot of poker players and she has seen lot of poker rounds while working with pokernews. She's one of few women who can bet aggressively. She probably learned a lot from watching others play.
She made a huge mistake when she got eliminated. Just because she paired a top card, she went all in. She should've known that lot of people are being cautious during her round, so people will have strong pocket pairs or very high cards. She should've known that her hand was very vulnerable.
Hey you- it's me! Tough break, huh? It must be kinda exciting and suspenseful to watch the tournament live, as well. You DID finish in the Top 100 regardless...correct?! Now that would be some good 'reality' TV. Thanks for the heads' up on the video clip. Hope you have a great week!

- 75/25 is not 4/1
- AK is not 75% against A2s. It's 70%. You're likely
ignoring the fact she's suited when you run the hands on CP, which adds
signifcant equity to her hand, as wee see in the hand in this video.
- She's getting the odds to call with A2s even if you turn AK face up.

Podiman 3 years ago
With AK or AQ she's getting the right price; between 2-1 and 2.5-1; only against AA does she lose money with her call.
But I don't blame you for having been upset. It was great television - your pain was genuine. And congrats on cashing.
kolst8406 3 years ago
Go to CP and run the hands. If i have AK or AQ she is 25% which is 4-1, and she is getting 3.5-1 to call. Its minor yes, but mathematically wrong.
And yes, it was as genuine as it gets, had nightmares for a while... it hurt.
Podiman 3 years ago
25% is 3-1 - 75%-25%. Your specific hand versus hers was 68%-32%, according to cardplayer, which is 2.1-1.
