No matter how deep down in life's dirt you are, it's always mood saving to come across tracks and artists like this when you know for damn sure that radio ain't doin' you no good!
i look at underground and mainstream hip hop like school.you got the popular kids (mainstream) thats doin drugs and havin sex and breakin da rules cus thats whats "cool".then you got the unpopular kids (underground) that gets their shit done right and dont give a fuck about whats popular, just whats real and thats whats cool to them.
@ryuakuken33 I do believe your philosophy, however there is a strange acurance happening with the perception of mainstream artists these days, people think they are "real" when in actuality they are fake. "most" Underground artists LIVE a negative life, depending on which artist. They live and have gone through a life of negativity, hence why they preach positivity to listeners. Mainstream artists rap about guns violence all that shit, but in reality they do none of that, they are actors.
music is what reflects us. music is what we are. if we listen to the better verse the better side rather than soulja's fucked up rhymes. we can see, we can hear, we are true, higher than media's brainwashed crew. we are, we are music with a peace of mind.
this is our music, music of our dreams. the music form of art, it reflexs us, those who look for real sound that answer to the soul. you are we are i am the underground nation.
This is the first song i heard from Shin-Ski. Some people commented about Shin-Ski on one of Nujabes's videos. Man I'm glad i found a underground-hip hop. It's so damn beautiful and wonderful. I'm glad i went underground from mainstream because nowadays gangster-rap is so whack and bunch of crap. Rapping about hoes, money, weed and themselves? That's just ridiculous. How they become rich and getting the fame while this Producers are legends and excellent DJ: that hasn't got much appreciation. =(
"I had a chance to go mainstream. But i kept to my underground roots, why? Because i don't do it for the money or fame, i do it because i love what i do."

It sucks that you can't find this type of music in stores. Of course, the gifted artists never get the acknowledgment they deserve.
