  • You guys are so fun, cute Kitty.

Sounds delicious, so I was looking for what to do with my spinach, and guess what I got tofu as well.

The vegetable broth in cubes I put in boiling water, I never found this liquid one you guys have. Being Vegan in Japan has been hell until now, but I won't kill any Animals or pay someone to murderer for me ^_^

  • You should try adding a couple tablespoons of vegan friendly miso paste while boiling. its so good and adds a lot of depth to the soup

  • i tried this, it came out a bit oily but it was relatively tasty! :]

  • Lovely video - thanks.

I dont think that green onions and chives - are the same thing, just thought Id mention it.

Those are spring onions in this video.

    Chives look different.

  • @FireEyedMaidOfWar WTF? You are disturbed?

  • I really want to make this soup but olive oil upsets my stomach. Can you suggest another type of oil? Thanks.

  • Yummy broth!

  • this tastes good if you put somen noodles in it too! :] had this for dinner today with noodles in them. haha :) try it!

  • I never had tofu, but I'm gonna try this out ^_^

  • Refusing to eat flesh should be outlawed and declared high treason! Since Cato the Elder did eat meat in order to preserve his strength for the state (according to Plutarch): “…and that the meat or fish which was bought in the market for his dinner, did not cost above thirty asses. All which was for the sake of the commonwealth, that so his body might be the hardier for the war.” But since crucifixion is no longer available death by firing squad is the proper punishment for this dear offence!

  • He is a cutie vegan pie :9

  • I'm making a variation on this tonight, since i made it as suggested when this vid came out and loved it.... I'm adding celery this time, and substituting chicken broth and chicken for the veggie broth and tofu, due to a lack of availability here(weird right? can't find veggie broth ANYWHERE!), but i think it'll be really great this way too!

  • Just made it and it was amazingly yummy

  • Will you do a video of your cat? I'd like to see more of her!

  • Looks sooo good!

  • I love this soup! I made it today and it tastes amazing! Thank you for the recipie I never found a recipie that tofu was good in before and it's great =]

You should do more cooking videos!

  • please make more cooking vids :) this is great!

  • "meow" her voice is so adorable... I rly like ur cat!!!

  • what does tofu taste like? I've never tried it before and to be honest, it looks kinda icky. lol. and also wat does it feel like? does it feel like cheese when you eat it or something?

  • @crazyrebelliouschick It kind of tastes like nothing. But it absorbs flavours pretty well. The extra-firm stuff is kind of spongey, I guess, not too unlike cheese. The silken stuff is kind of like a wet yogurt or pudding. I usually use silken for smoothies, and firm for cooking.

  • I use "No-Chicken Broth". It's vegetable broth that tastes like chicken broth. :)

  • your cat has the cutest meow :D

  • Omg I can't wait 2 make it I'm vegetarian and love tofu!

  • I am so excited to make this!

  • actually green onions and chives aren't the same... but they taste a LOT alike. also, olive oil is good in so many ways it sort of over rules it being fattening or what ever.

  • looks so yummy!!! I so wanna try a vegan dinner :D

btw @ 9:22 why does ur cat walk like that?

  • @scarlettrose11 Everyone keeps asking, she is a 3 legger but I can assure you that she is healthy and very mobile!

  • omh that looks yummy.! i mean im totally a meat lover but this looks good lol.

i should make a video for you next time i make enchiladas(:

i know how to make vegan enchiladas and they taste pretty bomb.! lol

my friends vegan and i made them for him and he was in love with them so next time my mom decides to take me to the store ill get everything and make a video(:

  • i'd torally watch him cook naked!! hella yeah!!

  • those arent chives chives are thinner

    those are green onions/ scallions

  • Omg, that looks so yummy!

  • okay this isn't healthy, but deep-fried tofu is the bomb!!

  • @nicolesamsonite It's definitely not unhealthy....considering the amount of soup this recipes yields, the amount of olive oil used is trivial.

  • @itsblitzzz

i think she's talking about the deep fried tofu! haha

but I tried this recipe and oh my goodness

SOOOOO GOOD! I never knew tofu could be this good!

  • @beeasays Yay!!! So glad you tried it! It is delicious!!

  • @itsblitzzz Oh no, I was just saying in general, like when I get sushi, I usually get deep-fried tofu

  • @nicolesamsonite Olive oil is good for you. This is a very healthy recipe

  • @rachiibuu I wasn't talking about this recipe, it no doubt looks healthy, I was just talking about the deep-fried tofu cubes you get w/ sushi

  • Thanks. My husband's resolution is to eat more vegetarian meals this year.

  • Your friend is hot! Thanks for the recipe..twas super yummy

  • The soup sounds yummy but that man looks yummier!

  • @purplesomeone Ha, ha, couldn't agree more with you-:)

  • sounds yummy! im gonna definitely try this :)

  • this is better than the cooking channel! ive been a vegi for 6 years and have never tried tofu! new years resolution anyone? thank you for this. xoxo

  • omg i wanna try this.

i LOVE spinach.. always have.. and ive tried to make a tofu stir-fry before.. didnt not end well.. but i think this will be my second and hopeful first success at cooking with tofu! im coming up on my 4th year as a vegetarian.. i think its about time to learn the art of tofu.

  • @palefaceintheshadows Tofu can be really good if it is cooked in the right manner! It is also really good marinated with teriyaki sauce!

  • yum more cooking !!!!

  • Makes me want soup! Being a Vegan, thats strong I cant live without icecream & milk! LOL

  • @OohLaLaHolly I'm not vegan! I am however a vegetarian.

  • @itsblitzzz Yea I know, I was just sayin! LOL Yummy lookin soup, great video!

  • Oh man, I have so much spinach right now...this is gonna be lunch tomorrow if I can find enough tofu.

  • @serendipity4212 Yum! Do it!

  • kool video =] i'm keep looking through youtube for vegan recipies to cook for my boyfriend.

  • Your cat's meow is SOOOOO cute!!! =)

  • @1108Alexis I knowwwww she's the besssst! :D

  • Amazing video and recipe. I cannot wait to try it out! ^_^

  • Are you vegan?

  • @emily16taylor I am not vegan although I have been a vegetarian for about 16 years. My acupuncturist keeps encouraging me to cut back on dairy, however, because she thinks it is contributing to my frequent and severe sinus infections. I am borderline anemic as is so a completely vegan lifestyle would probably not suit me NOT TO MENTION living without cheese would be impossible. I am making a conscious effort to incorporate more vegan foods in my diet though!

  • @itsblitzzz Well this day, makes my mark for being a vegetarian for 2 years. Although I was never a big meat eater in the first place. And if dairy is what causes sinus infections, maybe I should cut back! I get them once a month at least. And I agree with the cheese thing..that's the only thing keeping me from going vegan. But also, I am SUPER picky, so I don't know how that would work. Haha.

  • I'm always scared to cook tofu but now I know how to cool it! I just eat soybeans for my protein, but i really enjoyed this video!

  • @IndieGaby Edamame is the bestttt!!!! I eat it all the time too! Love it especially with lemon juice and a little soy sauce! Sooo good!

  • Isn't this like miso soup? Kinda? Maybe?

  • @petalk95 It looks like miso and reminds me of Miso (I told Joe the same thing!) but it tastes different. Miso soup uses miso paste which has a distinct taste (to me anyways). Both are really good though!

  • @itsblitzzz Yeah, I'm kinda iffy on miso. Just the... idk, almost nutty flavor.

  • @petalk95 I actually really like miso soup but have never made it myself. This vegetable brother makes this soup really light and the sesame oil and soy sauce give it a nice flavor without being heavy! Try it, maybe you will like it. The ingredients are relatively inexpensive and you might even have a bunch of them in your kitchen :)

  • Would have been nice if you had listed out the ingredients for easy printing/saving/use.

  • Still looks yummy though, and I'm not even Vegan.

  • @JumbaChick85 I am editing them into the information bar as we speak!

  • Nice!!! looks good
