The idea behind a video is not to show off your skills but rather show to the public how is done. While people like you get high dollars in djing and probably the only job you have others are not as fortunate. When I read the comments from people having a little bit trouble with their soft/hard-ware that tells me the videos being watched are not educative at all. Including your videos. Just my opinion.
@ZeezyC A lot of producers usually start with FL studios, I did and it's like "Meh" Albetons pretty good, I enjoy it, it depends on what you want, try to find a way to compare them.
Hi vespers, i tried to install artillery 2 in ableton live and it doesnt work. I put the .dll etc in the same vst plugins folder that I use for all my other vst's but this one just doesnt work. Am I missing something??
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Technical prowess means nothing if the music sounds like an out-of-the-box Ableton Live track. Their filters and effects are so easily recognizable, I just gave up on the horrid software.
@musicforpeople So use third party plugins. I do. I run all UAD stuff in my studio production and primarily Sugar Bytes for Live performance. You'd be surprised how many producers use Ableton at some point in their process. It's a host, the plugins you use are up to you. If you don't like Ableton's effects, don't use them ;)
Hey Vespers man I gotta say I've learned a lot from you today, some shit I've been trying to figure out for ages and you answered everything in a matter of minutes! So thanks for these amazing videos first of all. And second of all, a few questions about this video. What are you using the crossfader for? Is it for switching between banks or something like that? And how do you make those kind of "vinyl stopping" effects on your sounds? Thanks again man, you're doing the world a big favor!!!
@DJVespers well the only reason im being so negative is cause it says your a certified trainer.... and i wouldnt recommend sending someone to learn from you for that type of music. But keep doin what your doing, don't stop just cause someones postin something negative :)
@THEdjORC Aren't you a dj ? You should offer your brothers in sound words of encouragement or even constructive criticism to get better by if anything..
@mysterymediacorp well i wrote that out of disapointment that it says hes a certified trainer.... his djing to me wasn't nearly impressive enough in my opinion that people should be learning from him. But hey you know thats what internet is for i guess. i would have given constructive criticism, except hes a "certified trainer"
Do you need to anything with the APC40 or can you just hook it up to your computer via USB to work with ableton live? Basically wanting a Budget setup.
do you have a template for your apc setup in this and some info on your ableton setup because what your doing with it is amazing i have mad respect and the pitch bend or tempo control on your fx is nice i would like to figure this stuff out
nice idea but if im perfectly honest, i didn't like this much. I am not trying to be rude it just is not to my taste, keep doing what your doing though, PEACE
Dude, this is sick. Would you mind explaining some of the dummy clips you used? And how you got the track to slow down so quickly? All I can really do is map the Fine Tempo to the Cue knob and slowly turn down the tempo, but it's far more gradual than your instant slowdown effect.
so far i've been seeing people using clips to "play", can you play racks and instruments with APC40 like with the launchpad? and is there led feedback possible
@Mixikyr Hey mate. You can use MIDI clips with MIDI note information to play just about anything, including Instruments contained in Racks. You just need to know how to set it up. There would also be LED feedback this way via the MIDI clips in session view. Cheers!
@DJVespers thats really neat (: thanks! thou i think one drawback would be that the clips that are aligned vertically can't really be played together, but yeah i think it'll be cool also to try mess around with throwing automation enveloped dummy clips into the mix
i tried using 'the finger' from Native inst. for live glitching but i'm not really feelin' it. have u used the finger? also, do you the artillery is a reliable program to run for live performance? your videos are so helpful u have no idea! thanks man!
@jdelsohn Hey mate. I haven't used the Finger as I really dig Artillery and it does all I need it to. Artillery is super stable in live performances. Never had an issue with it. Solid!
@ackspkpk Thanks mate. It's meant to be chaotic, you'll see why in the tutorials I'm developing to explain the template. This is meant to demo all the live audio and midi mangling capabilities of Live, not to be an actual performance. Unless, of course, you have a raging case of ADHD and you just drank a case of Redbull ;)
@DJVespers WoW!!! Very nice, looking forward to the tutorial on the template. If you could add the parameters on the Artillery section that would be a plus. Great video... *thumbs up* :oD
@cottontail888 Thanks mate! I'll cover how to set up Artillery and the dummy midi clips, but not my actual preset in Artillery. That'd take way too long for now. These tutorials are focused on the Ableton template side of things. Cheers!
