what a beautiful piece or art! I really want to build my first guitar, a telecaster, to be more precisely . Was it hard to build it? how much time did it take to you to finish the guitar? did you spend a lot of money on it? Thanks!.
Hey, I really like the tele. where can i find plans? i found a couple pieces of really old and dry pine slabs in my fathers garage that i want to turn into one. Thanks!
Hi Lewis, great vid, thanks for that. Love your guitar finish. I am working on a tele right now thinking about a danish oil finish too. What type of danish oil did you use (was it tinted)? How many coats did you apply? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!
@MrGuitarnuts Hey, it was the most basic danish oil i could find, not sure of the brand though. The trick was to add a little wood dye (a mix of yellow and light beige) to the ash and then add a coat of oil, leave the oil to dry over night. The next day lightly rub it back with fine steel wool and add more oil. Repeat this about 3-4 times until your happy! It has a great smell btw
Your playin' is awesome and the guitar too, anyway I think it would sound even better with a marshall or a fender, wich sound more natural and would give the tele the possibility to get out its cutting particular tone on the distorted notes, but I could be wrong. Great job anyway!
Hey msn, I love the guitar, how long did it take you to make your's? I have always been a fan of the tele and I want to make my own. Grats ona beautiful guitar.
@Fendermadlewis Being a formula one driver, I'd imagine you're quite good with pedals! I'm sure that joke hasn't been made before... Anyway, a very nice guitar! I'm going to build one myself once if I get some money for Xmas, which I hopefully will. Disclaimer: irony was used in the making of this comment.
My pups will be installed this week. Can't wait to try them out and give you some feedback. I am convinced these two pups are the right choice for me!
Thanks for the reply. You don't seem to get much "hum" or "noise" even with your nasty stuff. I love the 54's round-sounding twang on the clean side. The "Twang King" bridge is good but the 54 just says TELE! The TK neck is bright and crisp, no mud and honestly most of the time I play clean or with just a hint of "grit" I like the "Sparkle Voodoo" pedal for that stuff.
You're pups are exactly what I have been considering on my new MiM Tele.
I realize your wood selection and hardware are different than what I have, still I think this would be a great combo and after hearing them I am even more convinced. I am running thru a modded Blues Junior with a Celestion Greenback and some other mods. Any thoughts?
Yeah, jimmy you got the right idea! These pups get 'that tele sound' perfectly, i would just pull the trigger on them, because they are REALLY great. The twang king neck is my favorite, but i think the seymour duncan wins in the bridge position. Let me know how you get on, i'm a total gear head myself!
WOW, NICE JOB DUDE, THIS IS A SEXY TELECASTER lol ,,, how much it cost? do you sale this guitar or another telecaster?
