Just bought this game on the WII ... I always wanted my own NeoGeo in the early 90's but the cost was to prohibitive for us mere mortals. Then with a slice of fortune I bought the game for Sega Saturn which necessitated a RAM pack. Alas, that was sold eons ago.

Brilliant game with excellent animation and sound -- way ahead of its time.

I Didn't Really Like #1, But It's The First In It's Series, So I Gotta Give It A Brake. But They Knew They Screwed Up When They Made Metal Slug 2, Because Later On They REreleased It But But Now With The Title Metal Slug X & WHAT An Improvment It Was From #2. Also, When They Added New Sound FX For Metal Slug 6, I'm Sorry, But They Were Terrible. Metal Slug 6 Had A Nice Story Though. The Classics Kick-Ass. My Personnel Favourie, Metal Slug 3. Holy Shit.

It **is** the original arcade version. It is being played on an SNK NeoGeo hardware emulator on a PC and being recorded with FRAPS. There is no blood because it is off by default on the game ROM. It can be turned on within the emulation machine, or by the arcade cabinet owner tradiotionally.

Or you could just be smart and buy and emulator and buy a good arcade stick. (I use an HRAP3 with an octagonal plate and Sanwa buttons) I love this game and would love to own a neo geo but the cost is insane and SNK isnt making any money from the sale of 2nd hand systems and carts

You can get a single slot MVS for as much as 70-100$. The MVS Metal Slug Cartdrige goes for 100$ IIRC. But you have to have an arcade cab or build a supergun to attach it to your TV.

The AES console is expensive, thats true. But I think you are going to pay more than 300$ for the Metal Slug 1 AES Cart. From what I heard it goes for 1000-1500$ approx.
