the LG viewty was the worst phone i ever owned and everybody i personally know who owned one has said the same thing. it was laggy and unresponsive, getting worse when the memory card filled up. the camera was supposed to be brilliant but in fact it was utterly dismal. the slow-mo video mode was a gimmick that only worked in strong daylight. It was crash for no reason. LG never released a single update for it....I could go on and on but there's no need.
@jmiller007 I agree, I've had this phone for a year and I completely agree with you, plus they aren't producing the original viewty anymore, now the new ku990i hasn't got schneider optic, it has an led flash, not xenon and it has got the worst battery I've ever seen! I don't even use internet, I turned the 3G off and it still barely makes 1 day !!! And I am just talking and texting, and even that rarely on a daily basis. People, buy another phone !

@TehLightBlinds The whole OS just feels SLOW, scrolling is laggy, pictures and music take ages to load before you can actually look/listen to them. This can be improved by installing custom themes etc but I'm talking about straight out of the box. Having said that it is quite usable but just be prepared to wait to look at your pictures and videos.
@sharethesorrow You are much right, but it happens coz of your memory card, i'm also having that prob. sometimes SD card not read properly even. Use OEM Kingston so you can reduce slowness by it. Touch is awesome except apple. disadvantage is No Motion, Wi-Fi, No equalizer on music player. but sounds are great with OEM Headset.
Anyhow this phone got the best touch panel ever except iphone... still no shitty bugs about the camera and touch panel.. How ever this lacks with motion and Wi-Fi.. but 200% good when comparing to nokia touch 5800,5530.. nokia touch crap....... camera suckss.. Viewty is best!

When your memory card becomes a bit fuller browsing through your videos and pictures can be VERY frustraiting and time consuming.

If you haven't got one of these old pieces of crap or have never had one, do not get one! My current phone is one of these and the touchscreen sticks, becomes unresponsive. Also the actual buttons stop working really quickly and you have to really dig them in to do anything... Just don't get one...
Iphone is beast and so is this, but i'm loving the fact it records up to 120fps, because i can now record myself skating in super slow motion ALOT better :D
I just bought the LG Viewty KU990i I'm very pleased with it because it was affordable and it's good for almost everything the only bad thing is that there wasnt a usb data cable NOR headset in the box. You'll have to be them separetly, it's not a big deal just telling ya so you don't buy one and get disappointed.
Definitely better than cookie! Better camera (5 mp), video playback 120fps, big touchscreen, plenty of picture and video editing options, direct upload on youtube, 3G support. Want more from camera phone? I don't think so. Superb phone. Iphone is just a good looking toy and nothing else.
ps. If you have any probs with battery life, use it in 2G network mode and it will last for 3-4 days...

@MegaGreenlover the phone is pretty responsive and overall has nice features . Head to head with an nokia n95 8 gb it kinda loses his grip both in video or photo mode. But if you don't like a bulky slider phone this LG is neat . Two of my friends have it, the 120 fps recording mode is a let down though don't buy it just for that .

i've got the viewty and to be 100% honest i was actually really disappointed with the camera quality. For a 5 megapixel camera i expected it to be amazing.
i had the sony ecrisson w800i when it first came out, which is like 3 megapixel and that was an amazing camera.
if you want a great camera phone i wouldn't really recommend this
@suppbledsis I think you are wrong.. The problem is not the lens its the picture -taker (you and me) After you get the green square and just before you press it down all the way what happens is that you tend to move the whole thing either back or forth - putting it out of focus. Try supporting it on something OR use the 'SPORT' setting (fast) I also got better colours with this setting...
f you want to get involved with photography - get a camera! Cam on moby only really for adding your contacts or maybe at a party or something.
One thing you should always do is CLEAN THE LENS! It easily gets finger- prints and then dirt. Also try putting it on 'Sport' mode and pressing the button down all the way instead of half way waiting for the green reticle - less chance of either you or the subject moving and getting out of focus.....
obviously if you want a great camera you'd buy a camera - its just the lady on the vid made it seem that it has a fantastic camera which it really doesn't

@TheXty92 mine works just fine... the sensitivity is balanced and works just fine... the quality of this phone is very very good.. it is stylish and doesn't have errors but the lack of advanced settings is annoing sometimes... you don't have options like equalizer for the media player and some other... another annoing thing is the lack of aplications .. like the drawer... or the stopwatch

well i bought the LG KU990i... and i was a bit disappointed when i saw that in the box was only the phone, the battery and the charger.... no stylus, no card, no headsets, not even a data cable. But the phone seems ok... the touchscreen works just fine .. the camera doesn't meet my expectations... but i blame this on the light... becouse it's cloudy outside and gray is the predominant color... now i can't wait to buy the data cable and install new applications

I just bought the LG Viewty KU990i I'm very pleased with it because it was affordable and it's good for almost everything the only bad thing is that there wasnt a usb data cable NOR headset in the box. You'll have to be them separetly, it's not a big deal just telling ya so you don't buy one and get disappointed.

I've bought this phone and I do not recommend it!
The camera gets cratched and the photo's are not very good.
There are a vew cool things about it to, like the photo gallery.
it is very big and it nearly fits in my pocket. I'm going to buy a new phone.

Definitely better than cookie! Better camera (5 mp), video playback 120fps, big touchscreen, plenty of picture and video editing options, direct upload on youtube, 3G support. Want more from camera phone? I don't think so. Superb phone. Iphone is just a good looking toy and nothing else.
ps. If you have any probs with battery life, use it in 2G network mode and it will last for 3-4 days...

also i didnt get the cable for it or headphones or anyhintg.
all i got was some manuals, recharger, the phone and the battery. it was a bit disappointing..

omg ! i am still thinking very carefully if i want this phone or not . i love how its touch screen and has camera and ineternet and loud speaker ! these are the things i use most . but some are saying it responds slowly ? or u have to press hard others are saying shes not pressing hard enough . i have read about 500 comments and im still deciding ; but im looking at the nokia5530 any other touch screen phones similar to this please do tell . im dissapointed in my phone i got 6 monthes ago =]

@MegaGreenlover the phone is pretty responsive and overall has nice features . Head to head with an nokia n95 8 gb it kinda loses his grip both in video or photo mode. But if you don't like a bulky slider phone this LG is neat . Two of my friends have it, the 120 fps recording mode is a let down though don't buy it just for that .

Personally I think that auto focus - or any fucus - is a mistake on a mobile... there is just too much body movement by the photo taker.
Fixed focus with a high quality lens is by far the best answer I think.
Fixed focus pix are ALWAYS in focus!

dude in my country it costs 230 euro the 5800 and viewty costs 140 euro ,5800 have a wi-fi and gps and in my country costs iphone (the new one( 16 gb 450 euro and 32 gb costs 650 euro sow( and B-T-W guarantie in my country ( belgium) isthe bst one in the world

i've got the viewty and to be 100% honest i was actually really disappointed with the camera quality. For a 5 megapixel camera i expected it to be amazing.
i had the sony ecrisson w800i when it first came out, which is like 3 megapixel and that was an amazing camera.
if you want a great camera phone i wouldn't really recommend this

@suppbledsis I think you are wrong.. The problem is not the lens its the picture -taker (you and me) After you get the green square and just before you press it down all the way what happens is that you tend to move the whole thing either back or forth - putting it out of focus. Try supporting it on something OR use the 'SPORT' setting (fast) I also got better colours with this setting...

f you want to get involved with photography - get a camera! Cam on moby only really for adding your contacts or maybe at a party or something.
One thing you should always do is CLEAN THE LENS! It easily gets finger- prints and then dirt. Also try putting it on 'Sport' mode and pressing the button down all the way instead of half way waiting for the green reticle - less chance of either you or the subject moving and getting out of focus.....

@TheXty92 mine works just fine... the sensitivity is balanced and works just fine... the quality of this phone is very very good.. it is stylish and doesn't have errors but the lack of advanced settings is annoing sometimes... you don't have options like equalizer for the media player and some other... another annoing thing is the lack of aplications .. like the drawer... or the stopwatch

Hey i have until friday to decide on a phone... and i have a budget of about 75 euros ... at that money i have to chose between a nokia 6303 ... Alcatel OT-800... LG Cookie... Sony ericsson w705 Samsung C5110 and samsung S3100 ... i can make a sacrifice and get an extra 15 euros to buy a LG KU990i... but i don't want to make this sacrifice in vain...i had a SE w880i and a SE w810i before this ... i dont need a comparation with iphone... i need a comparation with a regular smart-phone

well i bought the LG KU990i... and i was a bit disappointed when i saw that in the box was only the phone, the battery and the charger.... no stylus, no card, no headsets, not even a data cable. But the phone seems ok... the touchscreen works just fine .. the camera doesn't meet my expectations... but i blame this on the light... becouse it's cloudy outside and gray is the predominant color... now i can't wait to buy the data cable and install new applications
