Your video was very misleading. Your wire speed controls your amperage, and hence your heat penetration in a proportional relationship. your step 1-4 voltage settings will affect the weld height. Anyone who wants to learn the correct information about welding should go to the ESAB, Miller, or Lincoln sites to receive free high quality (Correct) instruction.
would you happen to have any tips on welding car exhaust tube to create a custom exhaust ? I too have a Hobart 140 . . . . I could use loads of welding tips.
I am enjoying your videos as i just got a small 110 flux welder for x-mas and I wondered what prompts you to turn the speed and/or amps up/down? What does it look like.
Great short video.. started doing some mig on a miller 220v classic yesterday, eventually found the right settings, but this would have been a bit of help!
theres no way a 110 welder is comparible to a 240 volt you are wrong hate to tell you as wrong as you can ever be... this has been very misleading a lincon 175 or the 180 can weld up to 1/2 and the 200 hobart is also way out this machine's welding rand and the miller 180 auto set same as the other two.. not to bug you or harass but is wrong wrong wrong your machine can weld 1/8 " max so can any 110 modle mabey mabey 1/4 with lincoln 211 or 212 flux core..
I have a Hobart handler 180, I love mine, I just have some type of problem where the wire wont feed, The motor that spin the rollors that make the wire come out quit working.

I recommend a mig welder with infinite heat control instead of step control type as your hobart , Millers are the best and worth the extra cost

@fillopygeesi Sometimes, not always. Hobart will fix problems like that free of charge. Depending upon how long you have had it and where you got it.
