thing i love about this tune is the simplicity dont play much myself but when i watch pat play watching the fret hand im like oh my god youre always thinking hes all over the place and he isnt hes on tour now with larry grenadier thinking about going but dont know a thing im a big jazz fan though could name twelve people off top of my head just love it its my peace my harmony... dont miss my old tastes at all ive grown up...

Brilliant! 'Change of Heart' reminds me so much of his early days with a Bright Size Life feel & sound. His music has always been about reflecting & reaching into one's soul & this performance with a great supporting cast of Antonio Sanchez & Scott Coffey is totally sublime. I still remember Rafi Zabor’ brilliantly written liner notes from the ‘Question & Answer’ CD where he described ‘Old Folks’ & ‘Change of Heart’ as tender waltzes. I concur. Being a huge fan of Pat Metheny since the mid 80’s, I absolutely loved this rendition of ‘Change of Heart’. It appears, Pat always finds room for improvisation while retaining the melodic originality in all his tunes. Thank you so much for hosting this video.
