Krekka & Pohatu [3ds Max + mental ray]

what software did you use to make bionivle parts, or did you made entire pieces in 3ds max? I bet you use some other software to make the models and animated in 3ds max and rendered using mental ray to make nice reflective model, Anyway how did you made that model?
