Since New York state recently legalized gay marriage, House Joint Resolution 6 has been in the news a lot here in Indiana, or at least I recently saw a news report on it and I was shocked, Just realizing that I could marry my girlfriend in a state like New York or Vermont but here, even if we had been married for years my home state would not recognize it. It leads me to wonder if say my wife became ill, would I be allowed in an Indiana hospital room with her or am I not family? Very upsetting.
