  • can you upload more satellite videos? cause all i can find is 30 sec videos of people turning the dish and other satellite videos like yours are spanish, mexican, pakistani or even the people are too shy HELP

  • I have a motorized Ku system installed and I noticed lately that the majority of the satellites have changed having the same channels on each satellite. When I installed the dish there were only certain channels on each satellites.

  • Are you sure that your dish is actually moving? Most satellites have different channels on 'em so if all of yours are scanning in the same channels it probably means that the dish isn't actually moving from one to the other

  • @christopherve7alb I went outside and checked the manual switches on the motor and the lights were on and the motor moved using the switches on it.

  • Yes but does it move when your receiver is communicating with it? The best way to tell is aim at your farthest east satellite, look @ the dish then tell the receiver to go to the farthest west and look at the dish to see if its moved.

  • @christopherve7alb I checked the settings on the receiver and for each of the satellites in memory they are all set at W=0; N=0. How do I find the settings for those satellites so the motor will aim correctly. I also checked the motor prior to checking the receiver settings and it seem to be working fine.

  • does the motor only move the dish sideways?

or does it also control its elevation? of so, would you have to manually change its elevation to get other satellites ?

    Sorry, I'm just a newbie.

  • The motor controls the azimuth (left/right), the elevation (up/down) and the skew automatically.

  • i got that motor with my FTA Package my dad can't get any signals with it on we took it off we get 110 perfectly

  • The Dish elevation will have to change when it is on the motor, make sure your motor's latitude is set to the same latitude as your location then adjust the dish until you get a good signal.

  • well until i need to use a motor then i'm going to try that thankz

  • @DJparsons89 Sounds like your True South was off when the system was installed. That can be corrected using the instructions from some sites, especially from the company who sold you the dish and motor.

  • @semco72057 Are you using USALS or Diseqc 1.2?

  • @christopherve7alb I am using USALS as the setting. I had a problem with this receiver previously when one day all went blank on my TV screen and the receiver finally worked again after two days. It only would give you channel numbers and not channels, then I cleared all the channels again it now gives me the channel names like it did at first.

  • @semco72057 Weird is it working now though?

  • @christopherve7alb I am still having problems with the receiver and can't upload the updated software since I don't have a computer with the R232 plug on them like the receiver has. I think that I will get a new receiver with a USB connection on it, and one which is supported by the company selling it.

  • @semco72057 RS232 can be a pain in the neck. If you're looking at getting a new receiver I'd recommend an AZbox, KBox, or a Fortec Star. Also try setting your motor up as Diseqc 1.2 rather than USALS I find it works well for me.

  • @christopherve7alb The Fortec Mercury II which I have is the problem with my system now. That is why I am going to get a new receiver. I have heard some about the KBox, but wanted to be sure before buying another unit.

  • @semco72057 I have the KBox prodigy. It's not a bad unit; scans satellites fast and software updates through the USB port on the front work well. In addition the receiver has blind scan. If you can find one for about $100 then go for it.

  • how do you deal with the scew a potential sat requires ?

  • The motor takes care of that unless you're trying to get a satellite with a screwy skew like 103W, then you need a separate dish.

  • how do you a power a motorized dish?

  • The motor is powered through the same coax cable that you receive the satellitesignal through

  • another great video Christopher-- keep em coming! (now if we can just get our Koreans to come up with a bin---channels galore if you know what I mean heh heh)

  • I'm sure they're working hard :)

  • Oh, yeah, remember last time I asked you if it was worth it? Well, I've decided it's worth it, I'll eventually get the system and install it inside my apartment, however, with how my economy is going(unemployed!) I can't be arsed to spend the $. I'm really liking these videos though, they're very informative. In fact, if you need any help with graphics or anything else that I might help you, don't hesitate to message me. Hell, I'll even volunteer my time/work since these videos are great.

  • Glad to hear you like the videos, I know what you mean about saving money; I wanted to upgrade to a bigger dish but am going to have to wait until the economy is a bit better.

  • Cool, I've subscribed. Too bad I don't have a house and my goddamn ghetto apartment owner doesn't let me install satellites outside the apartment. Sigh...

  • first comment yay!!!!!!!!!!
