Nice! Quick question. I graduated in 08 I was in honors band. I want to go to music school at the University of Houston. Unfortunately my test scores werent high so im at junior college just doing core. Ok. I want to major in music Ed. and I picked up the sax. Fortunately I still have good tone according to a music professor. But my question is how can you develop fast toungeing again. I lost the speed. Hopefully I can get better by the time im done with core and transfer. thanks.
i don't but his first note. did he slap tongue it? I was wondering why a lot of high school players slap tongue their low notes or tongue really rough.
The only thing I could pick out was that the dotted 16th/staccato 32nd rythym blended into the 16ths at certain times, but the tone was wonderful, note accuracy perfect and I loved the spacing and phrasing. Nice work!
Great Job! And up to tempo to boot. Make sure you staccato isn't tooooo sharp. Its distracting and doesn't fit with the overall mood or feel of the piece. Great finger action and phrasing though.
The style is pretty absent from here. I would suggest slowing it down and getting the articulations down first, then add style, then slowly start to increase the tempo.
hahaha ok so im playing this song right now! my sax is in my lap =]. and i randomly decided to go on you tube. you sound good. what version is this though... i hve the selected ferling etude book and it at parts its a little different.
THIS IS AMAZING! Well done :D

Also, you can't randomly take a huge breath wherever you wish; it has to fit into the piece.
