@jhuffguitarist7 I like Stevei and Yngwie, and you're right, he's there with them, in matters of technique and soul. But I've listened to all three of them, and I think Richie departs from them in terms of composing and vocal skills. Steve and Yngwie's albums are also great, but they emphasize their technique. Richie's albums are some great beautiful albums that are made to be listened by everyone. Try listening to What Is, Acoustic Cuts, Mother Head's Family Reunion, and many more. Cheers!
@MasYoNo25 1) Because you really have to PLAY to play a Fender. 2) Because is FENDER. 3) Because Ibanez is a toy 4) Because sounds much better and authentic.
@JusticieroDeLaMuerte - I pretty much agree with with you...but Kotzen tone & sound is way more better with His old Ibanez...sound a little bit light but dirty though....I think he's changing to fender because of his taste of music now... but anyway, peace dude!! :)
my ears work fine :-) But he should put some nut juice in the nut slots. He is bending the g-string flat and has to use vibrato to "tune-up" the flat g-string.
you are an idiot he is doing an open G harmonic on the 5th fret and bending it up to an A behind the nut....and you do know that no guitar that isnt made to true temperament will never have perfect intonation? i know richie's style and he tunes to an open E chord, with a slightly flat G string to compensate for the 1st Fret on G string sounding sharp.
Dave: Wow! Your a genius! If you bend the g-string substantially you know that (if you don't have a floyd or LSR roller nuts...) you most likely will bend it flat, this is especially true for the g-string ( one of the reasons why I sold my PRS). NUT JUICE! :-) I understand your reason for the flat g-string, but I still think it is way too flat. I don't either tune a guitar only just after a tuner because of the G-string. Because you WILL get a sharp G-string.
I tune it first after the tuner, then tune after a few chords (without the tuner) ( G, A, D, and E) to fine adjust to compensate for the "wrong" intonation. But I never get the guitar that flat. But enough of that, Rich is a GREAT guitarist, pioneer of legato and string skipping! :-) He has GOOD feel, and that is something that you don't find often with typical shredders.
I feel ridicoulous here... xD Does anybody knows what pedal is good to get that beast overdrive sound? my boss od-3 isnt enough
