For The Program, Roger Ebert said it best. People should know right from wrong. If they don't, well then you can't say they didn't deserve it.

For the Beavis and Butthead one, bad parenting is to blame. Why a 5-year old kid was watching the show and even how he had access to matches is just bad parenting.

Don't blame TV and movies as the cause of your problems. Blame stupid, reckless decision-making and terrible parenting.

The responsibility lies with the parents, not the network. I mean the using the TV Control they could easily deleted MTV so that the kid couldn't switch to the channel.
