  • You look beautiful....people could be mean, but it's their issue, not yours.

  • I understand what she's saying, but it's kinda scary. A bit like deliberate, wilful self-sabotage. That said, I'm now going to watch some episodes of the hit show 'Family Ties'!

  • AY OH OH AY! Mallory! You still look beautiful to me!!

  • i agree with Justine that there is an obsession with looks, especially women's looks, but that ain't new, honey. There has always been an obsession with youth, whether plump and youthful, or skinny and boyish, or curvy and fertile. Regardless of size, when beauty standards vary, there is still an emphasis on youth. I guess I understand why, but i think it's stupid, too. Experience and wisdom trump arrogance and naivete--no offense to anyone under 25... but really though ;)

  • tho', to be honest, no, not everyone looks great: some ppl don't take care of themselves, some are always mean-looking or downcast bcuz of their attitude... but that has nothing to do with normal, healthy aging and natural weight fluctuations. Some ppl actualy look awful, but the point is: who cares? it's probably because of their character. I've found that women--and men--who don't fit the "beauty standard" begin to look wonderful to me as i get to know their beautiful character.

  • I TOTALLY AGREE THAT IT'S ALL FUCKING BULLSHIT!! Good for you for speaking the truth.

  • Wow! What a refreshing perspective. Thank you for being YOU. Pay no attention to the haters. Their cruelty only reveals their misery. Bless you, Justine!

  • I'm more concerned with why a Hollywood actress would revert to Youtube.

  • @MrNotSoGreat: So this should've been on Entertainment Tonight or revealed in a People magazine article! LOL, get with the times: social media, including d-i-y entities like YouTube, are the way of the future. It's instant, it's easy and you get to say exactly what you want to say.

  • I'm more confused about why a Hollywood actress would revert to Youtube.

  • Forget about the face! MALLORY HAS A "POTTIE MOUTH"!!!

    :-P

(Just mess'n! You GO, Sista Friend)

  • Your words imply that being in therapy is a bad thing, or you should feel ashamed, when it's not. Really. The people who leave those terrible comments are just 'normal' people. They're probably teenagers, who haven't grown up.

  • @stevespielberg: i agree. i would say if you don't like my face, STOP LOOKING AT ME, lol! Clearly they wish they had been famous enough to even get haters ;)

  • Agreed. Justine Bateman looks so amazing now. Like she's earned her beauty. It's a life's fruits of beautiful labor.

  • She's so refreshing! -a beautiful girl with a great mind and terrific strength! Can people truly believe those botoxed house whores of various US locations and the like are attractive? THIS IS WHAT A TRUE BEAUTY LOOKS LIKE!

  • I always thought you were hot... and you still is ;) Just sittin' here watching Satisfaction and thought to myself "what is up with her these days"... and there you are... looking hot still. Be cool...

  • Most refreshing perspective I've seen in a long time. You look FUCKING great!!!

  • Justine, have not even a smidgen of doubt. You are gorgeous in and out! But you know that already, which is so healthy. Too bad so many others don't have the confidence in themselves that you do. They would benefit some much in their lives by seeing themselves in the positive light they everyone deserves to. I love your courage to speak your feelings!

  • Justine is super hot, I was born in 86 and would love to take her out :P

  • What was wring with looking young and beautiful?

  • She is super cool.

  • Joan Rivers should never have done what she did to herself, she looked great without the surgery, but--nobody told her.

  • You're an inspiration - inside and out.

  • I dont see the lines you are talking about. I think the eyeliner is distracting from your natural features. Maybe soften the eyeliner and the lines you want to expose will pop out more.

  • ahahahaha! That was awesome! God I love a woman who can tell it like it is.I adore ladies who are smart & sassy like Justine Bateman. I love her spirit & her straightforward, witty observtions. I want her confidence, it's inspiring:) Rock on girl, it really is utter b.s. how society has become focused on erasing age & identity. I love looking in the mirror & seeing my curves & lines. I feeeel more interesting and beautiful than I did in my twenties, it's great. Some people just don't get it.

  • Justine!!!! YOU ROCK!!! So true.

  • At least woman hardly go bald. I have gone bald. Did i just wine

about going bald? I am getting out of here quick.

  • At least woman hardly go bald. I have gone bald.

  • I'd give my pinky toe for a date with this woman.

  • It's a shame we live in a world that is so superficial. We like to think of ourselves as being highly evolved but the truth is, most of us are still deeply driven by "animal" attraction and we would like to stay young forever. As far as Justine Bateman goes, she may not look like the "girl" we new in '82, but she is a beautiful woman. And smart! Who new? MALLOREEEE!!!

  • My comments are late, but I just saw you in Criminal Minds-Suspect Behavior and it did take me a minute to recognize you. So, I obviously had to Google you and see what you were up to. Of course I happened on this great monologue!

Anyway, I had a crush on you when you were young because you looked different from most of the other actresses at the time. I gotta tell you, I am crushing on you a little bit now as well. You are still beautiful! I look forward to seeing you in more dramatic roles.

  • I just came across these ideos... I was thinking that you look great... you ha e come into your own..greatly!

  • love this vid! we need more like you speaking out!!

  • well you look really old and masculine so quit whining --it's not like you're entering a beauty contest. --sorry but there are hot chicks and not hot chicks and you're not hot, etc. in any kind of way. Isabel Hupert and Charlotte Rampling are models --they're gorgeous even at 50 because of BONE STRUCTURE and GENETICS --you don't have those gifts --focus on something else, go read a novel, take up a sport or hobby or something --you can't change your genes.

  • @matissesoccer There's nothing wrong with the way Justine looks. She's beautiful. What the hell do you look like? I'd bet my life that you're not handsome or a great beauty. You have a mean, snotty mouth though we know that.

  • It's sad that people don't know what a sexy woman over 30 like anymore. Growing up I remember looking at movies with amazing european actresses, middle aged Hepburn etc... so many actresses get plastic surgery that people forgot what a beautiful women out of her 20's is SUPPOSED to look like.

  • Justine Bateman looks just like Justine Bateman, and I dig her for that

  • Love this.

  • Mallory! I can't believe your cursing!;)

  • You have great character, you look great, as well.

  • The trouble is Justine....that you don't look terribly interesting. The woman you show as examples are attractive. But not taking care of your face or hair doesn't make you interesting. It just looks like you don't take care of yourself.

When I see these women I want to see more...when I see you I say whats wrong with her? No one is talking about lines and darkness - thats natural. You completely ignore your eyebrows and hair and wear makeup that makes your eyes look weird.

  • @demmylowther Wow, you sound like a naive bozo. If you knew anything about the history of your own country, you'd realize that EVERY American is descended from foreign/immigrant stock. The founding fathers were Europeans. The All American look/aesthetic (blond hair, blue eyes) is a very modern media invention based on Germanic/Nordic/Irish genetics. I'm full Swede and people constantly tell me that I have an 'All American' look. BTW, you write like a functional illiterate. Learn the language

  • for a 70 yrs old you look hot

  • You're beautiful outside and especially inside, Justine. Thanks for being real.

  • Justine Bateman you just became my favorite celebrity of all time...and you look AWESOME

  • Just saw your video on FB and don't recall ever being compelled to comment on YouTube but that was so right on! Don't know you wish I did!

  • Girl you always have been, always will be gorgeous.

  • You were hot then, you're even hotter now. You're sexier than you were twenty-five years ago (which was pretty damn hot, too). You look it, you sound it, you think it. Still total crush material.

  • finally somebody not obsessed with plastic surgery. she rocks!!!!

  • Personally, I'm glad that she doesn't look like one of those stereotypical plastic surgery hollywood divas. I think that she is a handsome woman. I'd much prefer a handsome woman over some plastic fake twit.

  • I own the Kathy Kaehler Fitness System workout you were in back in the nineties. That was such a badass workout.

  • The world can be a shallow place , I really dont understand those comments. I see absolutely nothing wrong with the way she looks.I would like to see the face of the people who made all those nasty comments.I think she rocks for making a video and bringing this subject up! She's good in her own skin! All those idiots should mind their own face!!

  • perfect - could not be better, from albert, studly at 53

  • I dig how you look too......I dig how you think even more!

  • I think she's gorgeous. always has been....always will be

  • To me, she could stand to put on a few pounds. Too much of an anorexic look now. Buit that's about it.

  • Haha, it's so ironic that people would say that about your appearance. When I saw you on that episode of Arrested Development I actually turned to my wife and said, "wow, she has aged really well. What a gorgeous woman she's turned into!" (I was also a Family Ties fan). I don't know why people reserve the smallest, meanest parts of themselves for anonymous internet postings, but I now have even more respect for you!!

  • What an incredible message to young women and I couldn't agree with her more. Thank you Justine for posting this - - you are beautiful, interesting, and very wise. I hope young women who see this will really hear your message because being comfortable in ones skin makes a person far more beautiful than having the "perfect nose".

  • in the family ties era you were cute...

    now, your'e beautiful...

  • great message Justine

  • ...Also, It sucks for Justine Bateman, because people are comparing her to her teenage, TV image. Justine is still a very beautiful woman. But people who grew-up watching her on TV, expect her not to change. People expect her to remain 17 years old the rest of her life.

She's right, her face is much more interesting now, than it was 20 years ago. She looks amazing. She looks like someone you would want to have a conversation with over dinner. I wish I could film "My Dinner with Justine"

  • I am so glad that Justine did this video. I just came back from the Cosmetic Counter at Macy's, after a sales person ambushed me, took a look at my face and brought my attention to wrinkles I didn't realize were so offensive to other people. She then proceeded to try to sell me a $150 tube of Strivectin...I suddenly feel ok again about my face and the wrinkles I've earned over the years.

Thank You, Justine Bateman...You Go...FUCK THEM. Fuck THEM and their posts.

  • I LOVE YOU GUYS!

    THIS JUST MADE MY DAY!!!!

    I LOVE YOUR FACE JUSTINE!!!!

    KEEP IT!

  • I LOVE YOU GUYS!

    THIS JUST MADE MY DAY!!!!

    I LOVE YOUR FACE JUSTINE!!!!

    KEEP IT!

  • Awsome

  • U r beautiful-Fuck da Haterz:)

  • Man that sucks! That's why I'd hate to be famous, there's always a shit-talker. You're beautiful by anyone's standards :)

  • Kelly: What a great video... first of yours that I've seen - SUBBED!

Hell, Justine's as gorgeous as she ever was. Beautiful lady, inside & out! I'm 4 years older than she - and NOT a celebrity - and it's a bitch to live in this town and be 40-something without ever having had any facial work. Screw the haters though... we earned every line, living through love, laughter and worry. They are badges of honor that show we are DEEPER than the skin we're in.

  • i love this video - you are fucking bahaaaaaalllllllssssszzzzzz genius

  • Awesome topic and you covered it well. Please check out my video response to this video. And I just want to say thank you.

  • Not only do you look amazing, but you're a strong woman. Comments like that would have metaphorically killed me. Low self esteem here...currently rising.

  • this so helps me to not be all hatey with my deep wrinkles and dark rings... i have a school reunion coming up - i don't look young and i have listened to the crap about how i should look like i did when i was 15...

  • Great inspiring words Justine. I feel the same way about my hands. They were beautiful when I was younger, but I always admired people that had hands of character and substance. Hands that had been on an archeological dig or have the rich patina of an artists' hands. Now, I have them! and I have become an artist over the years too. It's true what they say......people really do grow into their own skin ;)

  • You have always been one of my most favorite actors. I loved the way you looked when you were younger, I love the way you look now and I'm certain I will love the way you look in the future. You are an amazing, beautiful woman!

  • What a fantastic perspective and powerful message, that as women we can be happy being who we are, in the moment. Justine, you are amazing.

  • inspirational!

  • I first saw this episode a week ago and had to come back to see it again. It's really profound and if there was not any swearing, I'd show it to my daughter! :) LOVE your perspective, your self assurance and honesty!

  • Wow. it require a lot of courage to speak out freely about aging, skin and all of that especially if you're a famous person and certainly if you're a famous person in holywood where many times the package comes to cover the contents.

Good for you, Justine. I always had the feeling that you're more intelligent and interesting than the average actor/actress and your videos show me that I was'nt wrong.

  • Amen, sistah!

  • Thanks for this!!! You are awesome :)

  • lol I love you and your awesome!!!! Oh and im 28.

  • I think you are one of the most beautiful women I've seen :) you're wonderful!

  • You are a superhero! And you look marvelous.

  • Good for you, Justine. It's about time we got a real woman in the news instead of some vapid wrinkle-free idiot running around vamping for the cameras.

  • good for you! I am a man in my late 30's who had a crush on you 'back in the day' and I have to say, you are awesome! Love you! mwah! xoxo

  • Justine, you are indeed an interesting woman. & of course you do look older now, in my humble opinion I prefer a less thin face, you would look fresher/ age less quickly with just a bit more meat ( but I understand everyone has different preferences) But I love the message your putting out there- aging naturally & learning to embrace it- great advice!

  • I still have SUCH a huge crush on her...she ROCKED in Men Behaving Badly!!!

  • Oh honey, it’s so easy for Haters to hide behind a computer screen. How people judge you is always a reflection of themselves. When these people get wrinkles or start losing hair, it's going to rock their world. ~ Maxi

  • You are one freakin cool lady, and incredibly interesting person. Rock on.

  • interesting...

  • You look great Justine, you don't need to change a thing! The vapid idiots out there posting otherwise are no doubt still looking at Playboy and think that's real.

  • that's really funny because whenever I watch your videos I always think you look beautiful! you definitely have those intriguing characters now that you were hoping for when you were young.

  • you look really good, your face does have character. You look like you have actually lived a life!

  • Justine, you're still gorgeous regardless. It's disgusting what the media makes us think is "beautiful."

  • great video!

  • There's only one website that says "Justine Bateman looks old" in the google search that comes up. So it's not like everyone is saying this. I dig how you look too. I'm 18 but you made me see things in another way, I'll be ok if I age too. :)
