I really can't see how the higher percentage of incarceration nor lower percentage of education among African Americans is a result of slavery and a system set up to benefit "white" people. Beliefs like Abasi's cause more harm than good. He's shifting blame on to the "whites" and "the system," when it should be placed on the people who are breaking the law, dropping out of school, abusing "the system," and setting a bad example for the next generation.

If people like Abasi took even half the energy that they use on his "black power" speeches and re-focused it on to furthering their education, learn a trade, find gainful employment, etc, and mentor youth in their family and community to do the same, they could really make a difference.

Although there are some discrepancies in the judicial system, in large, it is there to punish those that have committed crimes. If you don't commit crimes: you don't go to prison, simple as that. Committing crime is not a racial thing, it is a choice. It is just unfortunate that many black people make the wrong choice.
