@AirMaximus88 I'm from Manchester and now live in Virginia, I'd agree with him sounding like he's from the south, but he certainly doesn't sing with an american accent. Bob Marley fits under the exceptions i described, most people sing in a fairly neutral accent. Of course it is possible to sing with exaggerated accents, but most people don't, which is why there are some very convincing Beatles and Pink Floyd cover bands from Australia and the US, but very few can put on a good English accent.

I just wanted to point out that too many people try to sing like that, and it sounds to me like he's trying to sing out of his natural voice. His lyrics may be heartfelt but that voice is coached out of all natural expression, it's like scripted soul and IMO it's more annoying than anything.
