  • That make sence thank you my bad

  • Realy stupid video whas the point

  • @Scorpionjp65 so people wanting to buy it will see how it performs and how long it takes to find a POI

  • dose it have the avoid toll road on it?

  • Yes. You can choose to avoid U-turns, Highways, Toll roads, ferries, carpool lanes, and unpaved roads.

  • i have an old one and insted of taking us to the STORE it took us to A HOUSE!! and it made us drive 18 miles! and the restraunt was across the street i can bet u know what happened

  • I got a 250W because someone stole my other 205W... Watching this new model and apparently newer than the 205, looks like the 205 has better or more features as ecoRoute, 1000 POI's, shipper than the 250w, MSN compatible, FM traffic compatible and so more; things that the 250W doesn't have :s ... Someone can explainme why a older model has better features than a newer ?

  • I'm not really sure why the 205W has more features than the 250W. Maybe it's because the 250W is marketed as a low end model and back then the 205W was the higher end. If you're buying a new GPS device, I suggest staying away from the 250W because there are other models out there that have a lot more features for very cheap. I bought this GPS for $250 and with that amount, I can buy one that has bluetooth calling, text to speech, traffic alert and more. For example, the Garmin Nuvi 265WT.

  • Stanley, the 205W is actually a newer model than the 250W. All the newest models end in the number 5, so the new version of the 250W is the 255W.

  • Because the 205W *is* the newer model. The 350W is the older model. Visit Garmin's website or GPSmagazine(dot)com to see a listing of old to new models.

  • cool, vancouver!

  • No TTS :) I think its now standard on Garmin GPS units. This one is obsoleted now :) Means they have discontinued this and replaced with 255W

  • Yep. There are better model's out there make the 250W obsolete. However, it's still reliable and useful to me. Text to speech is a nice feature but it's just something extra. If you're looking to buy a new GPS device, you might want to spend a bit more and get a newer model with more features as standard.

  • I have Garmin C580, Navigon 7100 and Pharos PDR150 :) I have updated Navigon 7100 with the software of Navigon 7200T and its the best among the above mentioned. I do installed Garmin Mobile XT v 5 for Windows Mobile on Navigon device that's the same version that's used in Nuvi 205 [i.e. no TTS]:)

I like the interface simplicity of Garmin more however, the functionality of Navigon is more good for me b/c it's hackable. :)

  • One more thing to mention, the mount of c580 is the best. I like its compactness, simplicity and durability and the mount of PDR150 is the worst :)

  • is this the 4,3 inch?

  • Yes

  • great ! i got mine 2 days ago ! works like a charm !

  • How do you get to that screen where you can just type in the name of the place and it will search? Nice video!

  • Easy!

Where to > points of interest > spell name

  • Thanks.

  • HOLLLyy.

OMGgG last night i went to That Shabusen restaurant and i was thinking of me using a gps to guide me their. then i click on this video . becuase i was thinking of buying the 250w, AND U TYPE IN SHABUSEN MAaann WHat are the ODDs.

  • lol that was some goooooooood bbq meat

  • AHAHhah. i was the head chef at my table.

  • I haven't been to Shabusen since lol..it's too pricey

  • especially now that you're broke :P

  • can't you trun right without GPS!!?

  • what?

  • only on tuesdays

  • I've tried everything I could, but I always pick the wrong device if I decide to buy something expensive. :D

No surprise, I knew that if I'll buy something that will be a piece of crap - just as every device around me. :S

  • That's exactly why I hate mine.

It looooooaaaaads for ages... This summer I tried to get to a lake not too far from Budapest, and it didn't find any satellites from Budapest to Velence. :S

    It's approximately 47 kms, and that's weird...

I regret to buy it, it worth nothing.

  • Did you try turning the device off for awhile and turning it back on?

  • is it mounted on your windshield window?

  • yeah it is

  • The reason for the lag is the search for satellites. The more rural your location, the longer it takes. I live in LA so it's almost instant when getting directions. I have the 255W.

  • I think the lag I get from searching for places have nothing to do with the satellite reception. POI are loaded from the database ON the GPS device itself. Satellites do not have any POI database.

  • Oh damn, that GPS is very slow!

  • lol yeah sometimes it takes forever to find the place i want

  • Hey, but what about lag (framerate).

Has that GPS a low framerate (it lags behind), or it is like TomTom, that has a fairly high framerate?

Can you post some videos while on routing or route simulation?

    Kind regards.

  • Thank you very much!

    Regards.
