Honnestly greetings to this guy, the best sax i have heard in my life, its just SO DAMN SAD that he is playing on the street, I mean what the fuck man, he's better than the so called proffesionel sax players. mostely of the time when i hear sax i skip the intro and hear a little bit and hit the next song, but this guy from start to end he plays with passion, and it sounds like emotions is playing and not fingers and blow, YOU GOT IT MAN, YOU GOT THE GIFT, do some about it, let the world hear it.
man, if he was playing on a better horn it would really open his sound. he has great potential. if i couldnt afford a new sax, id take the keys off and wire brush the shit outta that thing. i think that lacquer is dampening all the harmonics

Whoever Rocky is, he should be embarrased to be playing with a backing track like that. If you can't spend the time to arrange something for solo sax that is powerful and musically captivating enough then don't play in public at all....i don't care if know-nothing patrons give you money....you're obviously talented enough to know that what you're doing is a joke and a copout....be an artist Rocky - not a carnival sideshow....jesus dude, look in the damn mirror!
@AEH10 you should! I just started playing my tenor outside the coffee shop. People like hearing the sax and will tip I've found. That sucks about your school. Which school is it out of curiosity?

Listening to Rockys sax live in OB can be compared to being hit by a semi-truck....i remember him playing in the PLHS bathroom at lunch time and i would tip him with fruit snacks... i also watched him play at humphreys and his preformance was amazing...
i really dont care how good he is in his technicalities, he has a great feel for jazz and you should all just listen and enjoy the music instead of making it about critiques and comparisons.
that being said, it amazes me how people can walk by this guy and not stop and appreciate his music.
He's really good. I like his creativity with improving. Yeah, he's not the best, but he sure has some style and looks like he's having fun. Yeah, he squeaks a little and doesn't have many crescendos/decrescendos, but he's still pretty good! I may have a better style of playing, but I sure as hell can't improv like that.
Oh yeah, and did you people notice how many people in the video actually gave him money? I counted one-the Slash hat guy

he's not there every wed. i see him pretty often of fri nights -- one of the busy part nights. sometimes he's close to the farmer corner market--also great guys, hi--anyway if he's around you can just follow the tunes.

im thinking about playing my saxophone for band money :/
i really love band class and the school was going to cut it off. we only have $200 for the whole year for each band class.
im only 13 but im thinking of doing this to raise the money.
