  • My grandfather was a dowser, i clearly remember when i was approximately 8 years old explaining to him he was moving the wires himself and it was obvious. He never accepted he was kidding himself. Some people are living the dream they have this power - it must help them in some way. It is mostly harmless, but i never believed a word my grandfather told me after that day - he was untrustworthy and clearly mentally deficient.

  • Wow, nice illustration of Cognitive Dissonance when they fail. 'It can't be the same kind of water'... next time you need to establish the boundaries of exactly what kind of water they can detect. Either that or make three categories of possibility: sand, rain water, tap water. Then I guess there'll be whole new raft of excuses.

  • 19:54 -- telling bottled rain water from bottled tap water? That could be a whole test in itself.

But what's next then? One lid slightly more tightly screwed that the other lid? Also: won't a dowsing rod react to the water contained in every ones's body standing around? Move, people! (-:

Kudos for being so patient with those very possibly self-deluded dowsers.

  • When they fail to divine they make excuses.

  • I love the bit of bush poetry at the end the best!
