khanacademy, you make a mistake, this should be level 1 Geo metric . Not Pythagorean Theorem . i have been reading and watching basic Geo metric and still having a hard time. because i did not get the full beginning of every thing.
One tip when teaching beginners to take square roots (as in this video around 10 min.), after factoring the radicand, is to cross out every duplicated factor and put one on the outside.
IOW: sqrt(108)=sqrt(2*2*3*3*3)=2*3*sqrt(3)=6*sqrt(3). There were two 2s and two 3s under the radical sign, I crossed them out and put one 2 and one 3 outside. There is one 3 left over which stays under the radical.
Also, when you then teach taking the cube root, teach them to cross out every triple factor.
Ah, Khan. You missed the opportunity to make a corny joke about the Pythagorean Theorem, such that it's as easy as A B C. Or at least I would do that if it were me.
very well explained and good examples..

The American Teaching system is actually pretty easy.
But if you look at the Indian System where I live, you have to prove each and every theorem, which costs atleast 5 marks.
I would love if you could prove pythogaras or in other words the pyrhagarian theorem.
Thank you. :)

These videos have taught me 3 things:
1. The internet is a much better resource of education than I thought previously.
2. Many things pertaining to math.
3. I've learned more watching 6 hours of these videos (total) than I ever learned in school in 8 years.
