I'm gonna go with the judgment of the guy who was just feet away from the play, had a perfect angle and is experienced at making these calls.

But I'm sure many of you think you're right, what with having no angle on the play and no possible way to know either when his hand reached the base or the tag was made.

Looks like he got it right....The initial attempt at a tag is on a swipe, and looks like he missed. Which is why he probably tried to tag him again, when he lays the glove on his foot. Why try and tag him a 2nd time? Because you know you missed the initial attempt. Yeah, watched it a few more times, he tries to slap the tag down as the runner goes by, but looks like he misses, but also, the first attempt, lower part of the body, meaning, the runner has already reached the base
