  • Dear Yuan, You r simply GR8. Thanks a lot 4 up loading this immortal melody of two Magicians C. Ramchander and Rajinder Krishan ji. Your contribution to You Tube is superb and deserves appreciation. It brings so much solace to we, the real Music lovers, born in 50's & 60's.God bless you dear. My best wishes and blessings-Dr. R.K.SHARMA

  • @Rakesh56677 - Thank you my dear friend Dr. Sharma for your extremely kind words.

    I appreciate them very much.

May God bless you and the family too.

  • This is very nostalgic and takes me back in time by more than Fifty years, I used to listen to this song when I was in class VIII

    Thank you Yuan.

  • @kuckudk - You are most welcome, my dear friend. Mr. Sharma.

  • Hello Folks. It's amazing, with a body, a bit on the plus side, she danced so well. I bet Shammi Kapoor was jealous of her. LOL.

  • Padmini was the second daughter of Thankappan Pillai and Saraswathi Amma. Her sisters, Lalitha and Ragini, were also renowned film actresses. At the age of 17, Padmini was cast as the heroine in Kalpana (1948), launching her film career. She acted in films for nearly 30 years. She acted in almost 400 Tamil films. Ezhai Padum Padu (1950) was her first film in Tamil. In two of her popular Bollywood films - Mera Naam Joker and Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai - she was paired against Raj Kapoor.

  • @chandrashekharjain Paired and Rammed by RK.

  • @RealMusicKing After all RK was called the biggest 'showman'

Naturally he had to 'show'. all that he could possibly show.

  • @chandrashekharjain . Hahaha. Wrong! He was not Big! He was shorter than Nutan. Of course, depending on the view, Shammi was wider than him. He showed her Rs.(investors) It's all about bundles of Rs. and for that, she settled for whatever view was in her fate.

  • Love it. You STILL have the best songs on Ytube.

    Makes me want to dance.....

  • You are most welcome, my dear friend.

We "meet" after a long time!!!

  • those so famous today owe so much to this . . . thanks dear one . . .

  • Most welcome, my friend.

  • Like Vyjayantimala,no matter what dance genre you handed to beautiful Padmini, she turned it into a piece of pure gold by her Midas-like touch. It could be a mujra, a classical number or a gypsy-type street dance( as here); it didn't matter. Her talent and charisma always put us into the kind of spell that only the mythological maidens from heaven called apsaras were known to cast over the mortals below. Thanks, Yuan.

  • It has happened to me twice in the last 24 hours, Yuan, that while watching Padmini's dance I completely forgot about the sweetness contributed by Lataji's singing. That's a kind of special tribute to Padmini's dancing talent. But let me say at least as an afterthought that such songs and dances TOGETHER create the spell I was speaking about . They can't really work as well if disconnected from one another.

  • Thank you my friend for the very nice and descriptive/informative comment.

I am sure many viewers will appreciate all what you have said.

    Thanks again.

  • Wow!!! I am swooning! Such an incredible selection. At the expense of being repetitive and sounding corny, this is just too too much. As one of your friends said, Padmini sings with her eyes -- so true.

Thanks a million for all the posts.

  • You are most welcome, my friend.

  • yuanyuanyuanyin,

You have incredibly good taste.! I love your selections. May God bless you! Indian music from the 50s. 60s and 70s was God sent.

  • Thank you my friend for your kind words.

    Take care.

  • Padmini sings with her eyes!!!! Thanks Yuan.
