I'm sort of in the same boat. I watched the whole first season in two sittings, and I enjoyed it, and I don't really know why. It wasn't super thought provoking, the characters didn't seem different from any other run of the mill high/middle school-esque anime, then somehow I didn't find myself brushing it aside after an episode or two. I actually want to purchase the seasons in the near future which is something I rarely do (usually a one time watch is enough for me).
