I had a 66 fastback also. It was a formula S car w/ the 273 commando. White car w/ black racing stripes. Loved the fold down backseat w/ trunk access. Good for hiding the booze when the cops show. it was a blast to drive. I loved all the chrome and the big back glass. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
i hope you can take the time to restore the car once again....i can tell by how happy you are when driving him...that you still love the car. parts are still out there.
It really is a neat design. I like the big glass window. Mine was a lowrider for a while, so it has the gas shocks in the back and obnoxious red velvet interior with dingleballs. I sold it to my sister, and she kept it outside in the winter and got into some accidents. It needs some major restoration. The engine is still a strong as ever, though.
@jeremyacdcrocks It's a 360, like the one you have in yours. The motor came from an early 70s Barracuda or Challenger. It's a great engine. I always wanted to drive an S model 66 Barracuda with the 273 Commando engine, but I've never actually seen one.
@hoohoohoblin haha we had the same idea, but my dad wants more power, were going to get a 454, and measure, then weld motor mounts to frame so we ca drop it in.
@jeremyacdcrocks dont do that a insult to a mopar put a built small block in that thing i sold my 71 demon factory 275 horse, build a 360 and go plus the 64-66 cuda has a really small engine bay small block engine bay
I agree you should sell it. Then maybe the next person would take better care of it. Some people should not have good classic cars.
