Forced to use new twitter, all the text is on left side, i'm blind on my left side and having huge headaches, no twitter support despite e-mailing for the last 4 month, twitter clearly hates the disabled. closing my account in 10 minutes.
Your 27" has a Resolution of: 2560 by 1440 pixels. I would design to that — remembering that many are on smaller monitors (i.e. 1280x800, 1440x900, 1680x1050) so you'll want to make sure you keep that in mind when designing.
We also made a review and talked about how important still is to have a professionally made background.
We are no designers but it's our understanding that in some screen resolutions the left side of the background is reduced to 42 pixels, is this correct?
Would love to have your opinion of our video.
Do mind sharing what software are you using to create the video, we are also on a Mac. Love your work!
@TwitterPresence It really depends on your resolution. We design to a minimum of 1280x800 which gives more pixels on the Left Gutter Design. At 42 pixels, sounds like you're designing on a 1024x768. That used to be our minimum until the NEW Twitter came out.
The software we use is Screenflow - absolutely love it.
Greetings @pkai21 - that's a great question. They started on September 14, rolling out to a small percentage and then implement over the next several weeks.
So according to what they communicate — at the Twitter blog — it should be rolled out by end of next week (week of October 4-9). HOWEVER, I wouldn't set my alarm by it... by any means. I would guesstimate that it would take longer for some.
@monkeyads123 I'm seeing MORE and MORE accounts getting the New Twitter (as we log in to clients twitter account to upload their background). It's coming for sure :)
@Fowtowsjop I know... whenever Twitter, YouTube, Facebook make their changes to the layout... it makes me cringe!
For those with larger monitors (20"+)... the old designs will be fine... but those with smaller monitors will have trouble viewing some of the content.
@Fowtowsjop lol - I hear ya Roel :) I hate when that happens to me too.
What do you think would be a fair 'charge' for me to make changes? It's not my fault Twitter changes... but it's also not my clients fault either. If I spent the next week re-designing our past clients for free... I wouldn't be able to pay my bills the week after. So help me... give me some good feedback. I'm always open :)

@shepshepshep I'm sorry to hear. Indeed... they create for the masses and may not consider individuals sometimes.

@tweetpages yeah, you spend money on a sick sleek layout, and then the website changes :(, i feel bad for those people :/

@tweetpages Maybe do like 50% off and offer them an extra design like a YT or Facebook template (:
So you make a living out of this? :p that's pretty awesome ^^
