Mannen i 40-årene ble så provosert av bargjestens joik at han gikk til angrep og banket joikeren med et askebeger.

Det var ved et utested i Lakselv i sommer at de to møttes. De kjente ikke hverandre fra før. Den tiltalte hadde drukket i flere timer allerede da joikeren sammen med flere andre satte seg ved et bord i nærheten. Joikeren og hans venner hadde kun drukket et glass eller to, men stemningen var så god at fornærmede joiket av og til.

Den tiltalte mannen kunne ikke huske så mye av hendelsen fordi han var full. Men han har forklart at han ble fornærmet fordi joikeren kom med nedsettende kommentarer om slekta hans. Joikeren skal på en provoserende måte ha lagt inn tiltaltes slektsnavn i joiken.

Yes it is sung in Norwegian, but the title is in Sami. The English translation uses the politically incorrect term of "Lapland". Sámiid = Sami, not Lapp. Ædnan = Earth, Soil, or Land.
