the Dsi LL/XL seems to be so fragile.... its so light as I touched with my own hands, its not mine, and I wouldnt recommend you to buy this stuff if you dont want some tearing game pictures because it changes the size of the pictures which makes it worse.. not to mention its a bit pricey. so I would say stick to the old Ds

@ubas44 attitudes to the LL/XL seem to vary from person to person...if I had only one it would be a standard DSi as it is more practical and portable. The XL is unnecessarily large if you have good eyesight to the point of holding it further away to reduce the more obvious pixellation. If you like oversized super bright screens and play at home it might be super for you.

I wouldn't buy an XL until you've seen it or felt it's weight. It's unnecessarily large for portable gaming. If I had to choose one it would be the regular DSi. The XL was designed for older gamers hence the large screen and the big viewing angle. A TV ad in Japan shows the whole family gathering around granny walking her through playing a game. Not sure if the US will target the oldies but it has a feeling of unnecessarily large about it. Some people will like the bigger is better though.

@enigmamonkey92 not really, difference ds game has different graphics, most latest games have better graphics than the old one. in this case, some good games look the same even on a bigger screen, for sure some old games look worse too. SO I think the ds game developers still try to improve the game graphics, so you won't notice the graphics difference even on a twice bigger screen, you know, if you looking in a normal distance.

When I heard about dark brown I thought no but when you see it the 2 tone is more a metallic bronze. The westerners are buying brown, the locals are buying white or red.

In Japan the LL is targetted at the elderly (seriously) so dark brown is it's boring name...the US haven't said that it's for the elderly so much so they might try to jazz it up..if you have good eyesight the screen is too large.. When the XL is released soon I think it is guaranteed to split opinions between love and hate.

the thing about the ds for me is that it has an average of about 2 years of life as the top screen hinges break and if the dsi xl has 3 different stop points i am a bit worried about the hinges it will have but i think upgrading to the dsi xl wouldnt hurt for me

i have the psp go the dsi and the psp 1000 both dsi and psp 100 are similar but psp looks more sleek and so does the go but the psp 1000/2000/3000 has better content but dsi has a touch screen so in all the psp and dsi are similar but psp is the best its so much cooler than both i have it and its the best

Nop, it is just an extra layer of plastic, and it is a lot more apparent with this dark brown color scheme of the DSi LL than it is with the two other colors available.

Nintendo first wanted to release the two consoles simultaneously, but they couldn't do so being given that working on developping two portable consoles at the same time was too demanding.
