  • 2 generations of fabulous voices united.....love this....

  • Stfu bono already and let the boss talk, R.I.P Pavarotti.

  • Why does people think a duet is some kind of competition? It's about the two vocalists complementing each other and working together, which they hit quite spot on.

  • Um, yeah, that's odd... I mean, I LOVE Bono and think he's a fantastic rock singer, but when Pavarotti starts in.... just makes Bono sound limp by comparison!

  • rip, the greatest maestro.

  • too many people talk shit on here.

"..and war is always the choice of the chosen who do not have to fight...."

  • man if i was at this concert i think i would of never went to a another concert in my life. not sure if this much awesomeness at once can ever be equaled. . .

  • love U2. love luciano. but, this is a very weird and uncomfortable coupling IMO

  • The crowd ruin it by cheering every verse.

  • Bono is a good man with a great heart but just because he's your hero doesn't make him a good singer.. Bonos voice is so over matched here it's only his fame that make people go gaga over him... He is a great human being no doubt!!! I wish him well buy please... his voice is marginal at best!

  • I like the two singers.

  • two different people and styles no need to compare.. as far as vocal quality Pavorotti.. wins and no one can fight that

. and bono is my hero.. just being honest ...

  • 1:10 Pavarotti trying to keep a straight face

  • Its here when the rock singers come to short, its so mega difference between those two....

  • Its here when the rock singers come to short, its so obviuous....

  • Good clip; I think Bono wasn't trying to be Pavarotti nor vice versa. They brought their distinctive voices here. I wasn't (and I'm a huge U2 fan) too cool with Bono slamming his hat down. He appeared a little frustrated. Maybe he thought he looked a little overly casual compared to the great Luciano, and the headgear didn't help. But, yeah, slamming your cap down in such a performance wasn't a good idea.

  • Amazing!! Two beautiful vocalists..Luciano, words can't describe. For the idiots in the audience below, Bono is a trained tenor singer. Listen to Miss Sarejavo, Milan 2005. The very fact that Luciano has approved of him and his voice says it all really. Ahhh well, there's always going to be those who read the ending and think they know the story!!

  • TE AMO...

  • he are the best

    epic concerts

  • meraviglioso ;( la debolezza è una malattia incurabile....

  • The original Ave Maria (composed by Schubert with lyrics from a poem by Sir Walter Scott) is one of my favourite christmas songs.

The fact that Bono was reading the alternate words as he sung this is almost as bad as the 'newer' version itself... it is a complete insult to this beautiful and timeless song.

    RIP Luciano....u rock!!!!!

  • Pavarotti was undoubtedly the best tenor that every existed because you would start listening to him even before he sings so as not to miss a millisecond of that voice

  • @JesusNonEnviromental That's a weird reason for him to be the best. I do that with a lot of people.

  • "Bono, if you wanna help poor people, sell your tinted shades you cunt!" ~ Bo Burnham <3

  • about 30 seconds in i seriously started laughing

  • this video is hilarious. it's like putting salisbury steak next to fillet mignon and expecting some spectacular display of a new age of dining.... nah, all it does is make accentuate the differences, making it seem like an even shittier looking salisbury steak and a juicer cut of fillet.

  • Omg what a huge steaming asshole! Only a faggot as big as Bono could have the balls to preach about ending world hunger as he goes to Africa sponsored by louis vuitton. LOUIS VUITTON!? Hey starving people, I care so much. Oh that? That is my 600 dollar LV bag one that could have fed your entire village for a year. What an asshole. Bono I hope you die.

  • TROLL

  • .Bono e Pavarotti.

Bjs!

  • we don't remember that Luciano Pavarotti was the best Lyric singer in the world ;)

  • This guy Bono really has no voice fit for this song. Other rock singers have performed far better with this. Bono's version is not even special or rocky, rather rookie. The comparison is most revealing. Let Bono stay with his own music.

  • @topofmartin55 THE WORD BONO IS LATIN FOR EGOTISTICAL PRICK ,,BONO MAKES SIMON COWEL LOOK LIKE A HERMIT WHEN IT COMES TO EGOS,,HE HAS NO SHAME

  • @eatdogshitforlunch Have you ever heard Bono talk about his ego? He admits it, you end up in a catch 22 because of the humility and self-deprecation the guy displays while mocking his own ego. Sorry man, you can't say anything about him that he hasn't already admitted to.

  • One can simly say that Bono's voice is being intimidated in this video, but Pavarotti wouldnt be able to simplify and refine his voice to match Bono's, even if he tried. I admire both singers, each for their individualism.

  • Bono sings "One" of Krakow

    youtube.com/watch?v=HaK1kDgeEyU

  • Love it.. awesome. !

  • Simply the best, i miss you Luciano!!

  • SIMPLY AWESOME

  • Gostei . .

  • impresionate Gracias Pavarotti

  • Bono remember me here Lennon...

  • Bono and Luciano, one great the other first among equals. This is mind blowing!

  • i think that sing with pavarotti it's never an embarassing thing man, i mean grow up, it is a great honor and u shouldn't be so jelous about it of course that pavarotti is one of a kind , one of the best he is truly a legend, but bono its not bad at all

  • beautiful. and enlightening. NWO. so mort it be. affluence and despair is a chasm of shame. be.

  • In the video: A bloated egomaniac. And Pavarotti.

  • There's a difference between a singer and a performer.

  • where do you people come from ..i wonder can you carry a tune. nope. you can just sit at your computer and criticize i guy who is way richer than youll ever dream of. the song is awesome. the blend of the two of them and most important the mesage is great. oh thats right i was warned of the trolls on utube. i love it when ive had a few its a fun way to vent. your the one embarressing yourself. SOOOOOOOO JUDGEMENTAL AND CLOSED MINDED.

  • The best message ever on youtube comments. Thank you for sharing the response of the millions that love this magnificent artist gift

  • hermoso

  • Hey Bono, I'm going to have seal meat for dinner. What do you think of that. Don't like it, then don't come to Newfoundland.

    God guard thee Newfoundland.

  • bono ruined the song and pavarotty made it back he he..:P

  • what are you jealous? bono and pavorotti complement each other and the song is frigging awesome. if you dont like it go listen to something else.

  • @sharonra2000 ha you siad friggin instead of fucking but i do agree

  • I write any sheet music

  • agreed!

  • that is so ugly! poor Schubert

  • U2 wrote "Miami"

  • so what? you are in every video of U2 saing the same.. what is your problem?

  • actuly the two voices compliment each other, im doing a music major and from waht i understand about operetas i like to think i understand it well i would say this was a good combo and i would think pavarotti would have chosen this.... the second point is both singers where human right adocats and this would have been an apeal for somthing... but what do i know right lol :P

  • i love bono now. have a huge crush on him and im 57. that feels pretty good and makes me feel kinda young. i myself have missed many great talents along the way of raising two great kids and living life somehow getting away from new musical art. im catching up though and love to spend time on utube.

  • Good for you!

  • yeah, i noticed that about people who love to argue here and i have been caught up in that once with one guy who was really nasty so ofcorse i retaliated and it ended up we both walked away frustrated. next time im not taking the bait. im the sweetest person you could ever know but have a low tolerance for ignorance. its just the way some people are raised i guess but there is that free will thing which i wonder sometimes why some people are not conscious of their own behavior. sure is nutty.

  • i discovered the rock opera thing months ago and came across this song. i am 57 so really never even knew who bono was. i love this song and love bono and pavorotti. these words are awesome. it feels good to be on the same page knowing others agree with us feels like there is hope. war certainly is not the answer. never was and never will be. but knowing the woman at work cannot get along and tolerate one another makes me realize why men fight wars. some sick kind of human nature.

  • Well I stand corrected (even of myself)..I know Bono can sing because he sings my very very fav. version of Can't Help Falling In Love (on YT) that is sooooo awesome it's unreal. So I know he can sing!! Never heard of him before YT!!

  • south park, season 11: episode 9

they'll tell you the truth about bono

  • I"d like to know who decided Bono was worthy of singing with Pavorotti? God, he can't sing worth a crap!! But Pavorotti, now that's the singer. RIP Pavorotti!!

  • That was Pavarotti himself. He decided that.

  • No words to say...beautiful!!!!

  • beautiful song now became more beautiful because bono sang it, now is real

  • AWSUM VID. I do like Pav. better w/this song.

    R.I.P. Pavarotti.

    Mooz

  • These two aren't even compareable. One is in Latin and Opera. The other is in English and in a rock style. They're uniquely beautiful, and shows how two completely different genre's of music can come together and create magic. Wonderful, RIP Luciano Pavarotti!.

  • I agree with you SuzeRose and felt the same : 2 different styles, but beautiful song with differences fitting well one to each other and create... Also Mylène Farmer (very good French singer) created another beautiful way to sing it, nevertheless we cannot listen via Deezer.

  • @SuzeRose Bono is Irish. But, you're right. :)

  • @SuzeRose wrong country - Bono is Irish, not English.

  • @michelerosborough but didn't he live in england for a while???

  • @mcredman92 Hi Ya! He has or has had houses in loads of different places but his home is in Dalkey, Co. Dublin ...

    Anny :)

  • Bono is better than Pavarotti. His voice is amazing.

  • bono is better? well, not when he sings this song....

i dont think you can compare each ones caliber. theyre both two whole seperate genres they sing.

  • wow are you retarded?

  • hahaha ya ok...get your ears checked fuckhead

  • Oh shit... Bono has BIG BALLS

  • Lets get one fucking thing straight here..Bono is no opera singer OK..Pavoroti is no rock singer...Now then..difference of voices..But this is brilliant..so enjoy ok...

  • For Christ's sake, Bono, that was awful. Stick to singing rock, and those lyrics sucked.

  • Bono is cringeworthy! That is an appalling rendition of a beautiful song.

  • i love u2, but this honestly seemed half-assed from Bono. Now Miss Sarejevo was a GREAT GREAT performance by both of them.......especially Pavarotti(as usual :) )

  • Interesting how half seem to love Bono and half seem to hate.

Also seems like about half have actually listened to early U2 and have some idea of rock history and influence, and half seem to have been raised on bad South Park episodes.

  • He sings of humility yet where is his when reality comes knocking ?

But yes it is a beautiful piece I just wish one of the artists was true to his words.

  • The irony of this video is that Bono sings of the woes of the world when he has enough to go around for all of us yet Pavarotti (RIP) gives praise to Mother Mary and rightly so?

Why cnange a beautiful Hymn to advance yourself on the billbords.Maybe Bono should share his wealth and pay the taxes in the country he resides in!

  • fucking awesome!

  • Definitely some dude chucking a bottle at :07

  • check out what happens on seven seconds

  • BONO Latin for VOICE is the NEW POPE or padre. He's a BURNING BUSH! Courpus Cristi ' BABLE FISH

  • Does my nut in when people say Bono cant say okay we all know opera aint his fortay but he does this cos his Dad died and he was into it, so chill out guys.

  • look wat happens on 7 seconds a guy throws a bottle dude loook!!!!!.

  • what nerve i saw that

  • wow bono CAN -NOT- Sing...

  • how much have you made singing?

then come back and say that ....

  • awfull

  • pavarotti was so cool R.I.P

  • Yeah it definitely would be funny, but anyway I like that version of Ave Maria.

  • fact is that bono is not a opera singer and pavarotti not rock singer, it would be funny hearing pavarotti try singing 'red hill mining town'

  • Pendejo the fat bastard is BONO, singuer of U2!!

    get informed!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i think it`s your mother

  • Very nice interpretation of Ave Maria which remembers the powerful of the earth that humility is the answer...Mary which Christians and Muslims see as a special woman gave this message to the world...good job to Bono

  • this dude sucks man! Pavarotti rip brother

  • Bono is so out of his depth it is embarassing

  • What ever happened to the freedom of expression - 'interpretation' - in art? I don't think Bono is doing anything but putting his personal style to a classic. Pav seems to get that. I'd be interested in hearing Dylan's rendition of this, or did I miss that one?

  • I'm in no way saying that Bono is not allowed to interpret the song,

I'm just saying that to approach a song which has been sung (some say to death) so many times by so many famous singers in such a clumsily out of tune way is perhaps a bit insensitive to the effort that some have put into it.

  • This is the worst performance i have seen in my entire life.

    (Bono of course)

  • haha U GUYS R FUNNY!

  • Bono has no talent. He once again is awful as usual. Bono's poularity proves that the general public has no taste and is controlled by the media.

  • jaybou263

    No talent???? shut up

  • Pavarotti was embarrassed Bono was out of his depth here. I'm actually a U2 fan before u tie me to the cross

  • Bono ur so amazing!!!!!!!!!!! pavy is good also ha ha u so rock

  • The significance here is his desire for everyone to understand not just the beauty but the meaning to this great song. You can see in his face the importance of that and his appreciation for the dawning understand of those who have mostly never appreciated the true meaning of the words.

  • What many do not understand is at this point in his life Pavarotti was already losing his wind, he invited others on to stage with him because he did not want to give up on singing but couldn't sing as he always did before.

  • This is like the easiest opera song, so no Bono would not fail. I believe he was just intimidated as many who sing with Pavarotti are. Even though they were friends, in front of all those people it's a total different experience.

  • The guys who write that BOno sucks are not right... If he took the notes as Pavarotti, he would have failed, because Pavarotti is a real master class in singing opera!!! But Bono has a cool style which defines him as a good singer....

  • for those who think that Bono sucks,,think twice!!! because if he really sucks, pavarotti would not sing with him...

  • amen,,,God bless...Heart is hard today..me.....

  • For Bono Haters: why did you click on this movie if you dont like Bono? your just jealous because he's so good and famous!!!!

  • bono is amazing and i have so much respect for him.

  • if somebody doesn't like to BONO , please, just leave this channel and stop to make f................g comments...

  • BONO IS A TWAT

  • Shut the fuck up Bono you mic loving knobhead and let Mr. Pavarotti sing.

  • why does everyone else sound like shit next to luciano - check pavarotti + gillan

  • Not everyone sounds like shit next to Luciano. Check out James Brown, Michael Bolton, Liza Minneli, Bryan Adams, Stevie Wonder, Tom Jones.

  • For whatever reasons - the Godfather flashes through my mind when Luciano starts singing.

  • this was amazing. i dont understand how you can criticize bono for conveying emotion through his voice, thats his style of singing and if you dont like it, dont listen to the vid.

  • This was pretty interesting, i mean, its nice too hear to different interpretations, but really, this is Ave Maria, this is not to be perforemed as a lovesong with nice twitches and so on, its a song that requires a lot of respect and authority, both which only pavarotti gives when he sang, not Bono.

Its nice to see that Bono remembers to take hes hat off though =) shows that he also has respect for the theme, the only problem is that he just cant show it in his voice.

  • bono is a #2

  • haha how embarrasing for bono that he should try a duo with a real singer. epic fail on bono i thought. pav rocks, i would be pissed at my agent for setting me up with this loser if i was him

  • Sry that i ask, but how pavarotti dies ? Great man.

  • he developed pancreatic cancer, which eventually killed him

  • bastante bueno

  • Genial, una delicadeza.

  • Sencillamente hermoso.

  • Bono is Brilliant!!!!!!!!

  • hah. I'll take note.

  • Shut up all you sunnavabitches

  • RedFlower - give me a couple years to psych myself up and we'll have a 'sing-off'!lol!!

All you guys Bono was INVITED to sing that song by Pavarotti so if any of you are Domingo or Carreras then I give you full right to insult his choice of duet if not you can hardly compliment Pavarotti's taste can you because HIS taste was Bono and fair enough. Did you all think maybe Pavarotti wanted to target a larger audience? Not everyone listens to Opera.

  • i had a cd with these two singing a different song yrs before this and it was some of the most emotional heart wrenching stuff i'd ever heard, i was 18 and was listening to a lot of tool at the time.if it touched me, it WAS good.

  • Those of you who knock Bono doesn't understand Pavarottis message. They are both saying the same thing in their own way.
