Julie Christie has always been my dream girl. It is amazing that we have so much in common. I was born in 1940, she was born in 1941. So both of us were born in the forties . One of us was beautiful and talented, but since beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I guess which one, is up in the air. Both of us had mothers too. Amazing!
@onebaud I was born in 1940 too, and I fell in love with Julie Christie when millions of others did. Watching Dr. Zhivago. She is the most beautiful woman to ever live and she tore at the hearts of millions in that movie. She is old now, approaching 70, but is still beautiful. Not so many can say that.
Brits do everything on stage so well. Even AreYouBeingServed slapstick they do brilliantly. The polished and rich-toned sound of the English language helps, but it is the ACTING that really makes them tower over the rest of the world. And Christie stands out on her own. The little gestures and looks and smiles in DontLookNow, so professional, but never artificial.
She has always been incredibly beautiful. Someone who knew her as a young woman, before she was a filmstar, told me that when she went to a party the whole room would fall quiet as she walked in, so amazing was her beauty.
@kinglear You should see Julie Christie in Afterglow. Made in 1997, I think Christie was in her early to mid 50's at the time. I have never seen a more beautiful woman on screen or in life. She gives the sexiest performance that I have ever seen. I just fell in love with her.
This video made me cry for Hours. And made me think for days. Still today, when i think about it, i cry and my mind goes to their story.. so sad, so heck sad...
Julie Christie was absolutely stunning in this, but I also thought that Gordon Pinsent should have gotten a nod also. His performance was absolutely heartbreaking. In the end I wasn't all that disspointed that Marion Cotillard won, Julie already has an Oscar at home!
This was the only other Oscar nominee I saw for 2007 and therefore I thought she would win, but then I saw La Vie En Rose, and I was blown away. If only it was a tie.
I really liked your channel and this video. If you need any help getting this video exposed I use a site called tubeviews (dot) net It has really helped like 20 of my main videos get to the top in position.
There is software im using to send atleast 30,000 text message a day advertising my online business...it is amazing. I think they have free demos to try as well.

I respect your view, and I agree that her performance was outstanding (hand's down Oscar worthy), but Cotillard's performance was phenomenal. She completely immersed herself in a character not very many could have portrayed. You could say that's an easy thing to do, but especially with a character like that, I wouldn't think so. She undoubtedly deserved the Oscar.
Julie, does the Canadian accent, some justice.

Noboby ever mentions Gordon Pinsent or Olympia Dukakis in this film. They made this movie for me. Great characters!

It must be said, Americans come close to it.

How does a woman of her age look so amazingly beautiful. It's just odd and she looks so natural. I guess she just has good genes.
