Interesting. The ref made a very good point. I blame the rise of the Austin era. Before he became the new face of wrestling hero. It was straight forward, face doesn't cheat. Heel sneaks behind ref. But with Austin and HHH. Their personoas have it that 'I'm the tough guy, what you gonna do about it?' And fans have grown to love this. So it seems vital to knock the ref about a bit.
