I saw one of these cars go for 55,000!! and that was a 68 gt coupe with the 302!..The value of these cars like any muscle car is worth whatever the person is willing to pay for it. Someone could take mine and paint it highland green and put the correct wheels and tires and have themselves a bullitt movie car. And the fact that the GT with 390 is VERY rare makes it more valuable. You can get 50,000 for these if they have factory 390 or 428. Easy from the right buyer.
Have you got a Marti report? Mine was born on May 14th. Built in dearborn and sent to Rommy Hammes in Indiana. Ford made alot of mistakes with the 390 HIPO. The heads were too small and the carberation was far too small. Dont get me wrong mine is stock except for pertronix and a new edelbrock carb, and it scoots right along, but back in the day these were pigs compared to the chevys and plymouths. I have often wondered what ford was thinking. They could have made this car haul ass!!!
I bought my 68 GT in 1984 for 200 bucks!!..It was sitting on the side of a guys house with the C 6 on the ground. He replaced the flywheel but never finished the job. He told me if i gave him 200 i could work on it there and drive it away. I borrowed 200 from my Dad and the rest is history. I think i am the only guy in So. California with one, i dont see them anywhere! I like you console, is that from a cougar? Is that the engine from the factory? I know the mods are not but the original engine?
great project...cool ride...awesome hobby that continues to be so priceless to the enthusiast...i love ol' skool nostalgia...thanks for sharing! i'm currently building a 68' eleanor shelby convertible...slowly...lol : )

This car looks great. Perhaps better than new.
I don't like the mudflaps - always a a sign for a very old driver, but still a beauty.
And I think, the burgundy 66 right next to it is as cool. The same owner?
