  • What settings did you use to get this tone man?

  • wow man fucking love it... is that a peavey vypyr on the back do you like it i might buy this one or the line 6 spider iv 75

  • @MatKiller1197 Thanks man! Yes that's a little 15watt Vyper solid state with a 10" speaker! I use it for low volume practice! Go check out my other video of my 6505+ combo! Way better tone!!!

  • Do you prefer straight cabs over slanted? Do you notice much difference in tone?

  • @5150VanAlien

I think the slant cab may help you hear yourself while on stage... but then again if you play in a venue that has a good sound system and monitors then it really doesn't matter... They both sound great regardless

  • @iMetalguitarist Thanks...I've always been an ENGL man however, I'm leaning towards the Single Rectifier 50 or even the Blackstar Series One 50. I like 50 watters s they sound better at lower volumes.

  • Lovely sound man and great riff. Tell me, how reliable is the Single Rec? Have you had any problems with it? I'd like to mate one of these to the smaller Stiletto cab. Currently I use ENGL's (Savage & Blackmore) and happy. However, had ENGL for years and thinking of experimenting.

  • Killer riffage. Cheers!

  • @davidgolman

The Rectifier Series are extremely reliable! Build very solid. I have owned 2 with NO problems! I highly recommend them.

  • @iMetalguitarist Great stuff dude! Did you have a boost on this or no? Because I'm looking for a head that's NOT a Peavey that has enough gain to suit me death metal needs WITHOUT any pedals.

  • what's that freaking lightening?!!!! WTF!!!!

  • what did you use for a boost

  • @dusted04 Maxon 808

  • I have to turn my gain all the way up to get gain on it, and my 6505 gain is at 5 so what should I do? could this mean I need new tubes?

  • Do you love you amp head? I read online that the single rec is the same as the dual but instead of being able to switch from Diode to tube it makes a diffrence? idk is this true?

  • @Tonskiislegit yes. its true. the only other difference is that its only 50 watts. but its 50 TUBE watts. which is still REALLY loud. and it sounds better at lower volumes

  • holy shit! Lightning coming from your guitar hands! lol.

  • Just traded my les paul for this head, I have a peavey 6505 and a Mesa head what are your settings?

  • hey dude, can I record vocals too your song? (: it would be cool!

  • very good sound out of that recto.

  • Sounds epic. I didn't know what a Single Rec. was able to do till this video. Nice Schecter too, I had one simular (2008 C1-FR)

  • could you give me the settings? :3

  • So I have a 6505 and I need a new cab (I currently have a crappy Marshall cab), and I'm not sure whether I should buy a used Mesa Boogie 4x12 Rectifier or an Avatar cab. I play death metal and I've heard the Rectifier has a good low end, but Avatar uses the same speakers and are half the price.

    Any suggestions?

  • @snOwBL1nD

The Avatar is a great sounding cabinet at a great price. You can get one brand new for the price of a used Mesa... However Avatar doesn't have the name and reputation that Mesa has so the resale value is low. I have owned both and love both. If you can get a used Mesa in good condition I would go for it. If you can't find a Mesa Cab for $500 then go get a brand new Avatar delivered for less than $600!

  • @iMetalguitarist Thanks for the reply! I don't really care about the name or resale value, so I'm leaning towards Avatar. The only thing is, since they aren't available in stores, I can't really try them out. I'd be bummed if I bought an Avatar and it turns out to sound no better than my Marshall.

  • @snOwBL1nD I got the Avatar G412 Vintage with the Hellatone 60's (which are broken in Vintage 30's)... I loved it. You most likely have the G12's in your Marshall. So already you will hear a difference with that alone. Mesa's have Vintage 30's and they do have a good low end and low midrange to them but I found my Avatar extremely useful and great sounding for the money. I think you'll be happy either way really...

  • @iMetalguitarist ive had an avatar for 6 years, i love it

  • @snOwBL1nD this is a choice thats up to you, the avitar cabs do sound pretty darn good for the money, but the mesa cab is better. (well i guess that depends on your taste cause some people like marshall cabs over mesa) i would really try to find a mesa cab used, i lucked out and landed one brand new for 400 bucks. im not sure if this helps much but there are some things that are great buys for a good bargain, ive gotten great stuff for cheap but sometimes you get what you pay for.

  • Okay, so. I have two Peavey 5150s. Trying to set up a live rig. Should I invest $800 into a single recto, or should I aim elsewhere?

  • @CrossPain11

The Peavey 5150 is an awesome rig... It's a head right? Play through a good quality cabinet with good speakers like celestian v30's... Also try a Maxon 808 in front of the amp with the balance all of the way up and the drive all the way off... Then lower the gain on your 5150. This will give it a more raw, pushed, and defined tone! Also remember how important EQ is. Don't be afraid of turning up the mids and turning down the bass!

  • @iMetalguitarist Yeah, I only have the gain on 3 MAX. Plus, I crank my mids pretty high and run with a very conservative bass setting. It sounds very tight and defined. However, you didn't answer my question, my friend. Should I invest in a Single Rectifier to add to my tone? Or would it be best to just stick with the two 5150s?

  • @CrossPain11

I would stick with the 5150's. My original reply was simply stating how your 5150's would do great as a live rig without the need for a recto.

  • @iMetalguitarist Ah. Okay, sorry for the misunderstanding. Thank you for your kind help, sir.

  • lol, lightning...

  • @MrJaEvans

Hahaha! Was waiting for someone to say something!

  • Nice playing but far from original. Riff's sound very similar to As I lay Dying - Through the struggle

  • Hey man how this amp sounds at low volume ? can u get alot of gain with low volume ?.

  • @nxsr

It does fairly well at lower volumes since it has separate master and output controls. However, to get a good recorded tone you need to crank it fairly loud. I also highly recommend a boost like the Maxon 808 or Tube Screamer in front of any Mesa. This allows you to turn the gain down on the amp which will help reduce the fizziness of Mesa's and give it a more raw tone.

  • fuck me this is awesome

  • you always amazing.

  • Thanks man! Yes Ola has affected many

  • Great tone, great job, man... btw you are affected by Ola Englund a little bit, aren't you? :-)

  • hey r u using any pedals ??

  • @joerobotpants1234

    I'm using a Maxon 808 for boost

  • What pedals did you use?

  • Hella tone bro, is that drop C tuning? Always a lover of Mesa's, I have so many friends that play Fender. And they wonder why I lol @ their tone.

  • I love the sound. I got a couple heads and my favorite is my Mesa. Check some of my videos out if you have the time. I would like to hear what you think.
