Tom appears to be drawing on a number of his "showpiece" acting faces to deliver this meaningless drivel. Some of these Hollywood figures, isolated from the real world for quite some time, are clearly struggling to keep things together. It's actually quite sad to see. As for Scientology, it is a business pure and simple. In some ways these "PR" moments are quite valuable in that they serve to counter any crumbs of credibility that the corporate-structured Scientology thugs try to push.

Scientology doesn't get criticized for what they believe per se. Scientology is criticized because of the way they operate.
