Bought one of these new in July 1981, very similar to this one except it was two tone blue black and a 5 speed with sunroof and AC in Victoria, BC> Totalled it just before leaving for overseas in Philly-left it there and flew home to Canada! It was a good car.
Welcome to my world. I live in one of the windiest areas in the US. Average windspeed 24/7/365 is 13 MPH. I've got about 200 electric wind turbines within 10 miles of my house.
I have a 1980 200sx with only 102,000 miles on it. I'm trying to restore it. The guy before me stored it improperly so I have to do some cleaning behind the dash and I'm fixing stuff he broke. These were really nice cars. I love mine and I'd never sell it. Tons of fun and I'm the only person in this area of WI that has one which makes it even better but I get people asking if its the delorian from back the to future lmao
Datsun use to be Datson when it was on its own then the name got changed to Datsun to reflect the sun on the Japanese flag. It was purchased by Nissan and they kept the datsun name because Nissan was big at the time and didn't want their name being ruined in the US because they were foreign. Eventually they changed the name to Nissan.
I had an 81 200SX. I bought it when it had 69000 miles and kept it for over 10 years. This was an awesome car! I miss it. That motor just would not die!
i had an 81 510, i wish you had been closer to tx, i would've bought it from you, those z20 engines lasted forever. i think mine had 320k on it b4 it died
WOW i havent seen this car in years, I bought one back when I was 16 for 400 dollars, this was in 1996, the car was running fine, the car radio with the extra cassette deck worked fine and the only thing that didnt work properly was the sunroof because it leaked. Loved that car. Miss that car. 200sx 1981
Wow!! My dad had one EXACTLY (same color) like yours!!! I had so many great memories in that car. The car ran forever. The speedometer broke at 150K miles. It ran great several years until he sold it. My friends thought it was so cool back then.
WoW!! I had a 1982 200sx.. It was identical except for a few cosmetic differences and mine was silver. My Mom and Dad bought it for me brand new. Ive been thinkin' about tryin' to find one to restore. I LOVED that car. I drove it until it was totaled when I was rear-ended in 1994. Did you ever get rid of it or what?
rear wheel drive :)

Nice looking car, I've always liked the coupe version the best, over the hatchback version.

I thought a Datsun WAS a Nissan. Since that was the trade name Nissan used until 1984 or there about when they went to their corporate name, Nissan
