Wiindsor is the same as. 302/289/351w Cleveland is 351c, 351m, m400, 400 there are no similarities between winsdsor and cleveland its valve covers are squared on 1 end and are more wide w valve covers are more sq and even

  • i own a ford 7.3 diesel . a dodge diesel.and two chevy diesel..the cheys are good trucks but lack the towing of the bigger ford and the dodge.. these trucks cost alot of money and hooking a chain to try and out pull one against another will tear them both up..it proves nothing except the kids today have no respect for hard working trucks.. hook them to trailers put them to work.thats what there for..

  • @guppyelf I payed for and frame up built my 1986 f250 I know blood sweat and tears what a truck costs and if some one wanted to hook up (on dirt) you bet your ass I would! Its a truck, its meant to work hard and play hard. You think pulling a load up a hill isn't hard on your truck? And if I tear the drive shaft out fucking around.. I'll buy the part and fix the truck. Btw I have a 7.3 idi with a turbo and some pump work, they are great motors.

  • @TurboIDI yeah they are . mine has a 20 over bore and 3 inch stainless steal valves and an ats turbo. w a 4 inch exhaust tip to tail. dana 60s came on the truck but the c 7 five star transmission was nearly 3000 to have modified. my point was that some kid text me and said that it doesnt cost money to repair,, bullshit,, any one that works on these old dogs know that parts can get the better end of your pocket book,,that was my point,, it your truck do what you want,

  • I don't get what exactly u are responding to! Considering 1 said 400's were gone in 85 and they were and besides they were M400 not 400 which ford did build that was never in a truck only the 351m/ m400 was in trucks and 400 was a car motor! And yes they did have the m400 up to 82-83 I had the last yr of the full-size ranger with 3 on the tree!

  • For 1 that ford had 460 at most 400's were long gone by that time, and the guy who said that ford wasn't spinning watch video better the 4wheels were spinning it was a good fight good job on video!! Was even except the chevy had no tire pressure and that may be why he won watch his tires

  • @Brutalford Actually ALL 400's were gone by that time since the last of them were put in F-series and Broncos up until 1982. They quit making them in 1979 but Ford used up the rest of their stock until '82 so no '85 came from the factory with a 351M or 400. In 1985, 3/4 ton and up F-series trucks had the 4.9(300ci), 5.0(302ci), 5.8(351ci W), and 7.5(460ci) engines available but the 4.9 was rare in F250's and really rare in F350's.

NO 351M OR 400 PAST '82, sorry buckaroo. I worked for Ford in that era and I never saw a truck come in newer than '82 with one unless it was a swap. Do some research on the engine for fuck sake before acting like a smartass.

In this case however, being that I worked for Ford (mainly light duty trucks) from the mid 70's through the early 90's, I am not "thinking" I know it all, I am stating the Facts from FORD MOTOR COMPANY THEMSELVES.   • @dondondonman First, it's a common mistake to think you have one engine when really you have another(especially Ford engines). I'm sure you had a 351W and your dad thought it was a 351M. My dad made the same mistake for years thinking he had a Cleveland engine untill I showed him it was a Windsor. Second, being that I worked for Ford in the era these engines were made makes me a better reference of information than you or your father. Never once from '82 on did any of us techs find an "M" block.

  • @Gibson393 Elaborate on how chevy copies ford. The new hd chevy has the fully boxed frame and possibly the strongest of the 3/4+ trucks. My friend does towing with his 2006 3500hd duramax, its got 600k+ miles on it with the original allison and duramax, just regular maintenance. The allison is alot stronger than all of the other trans thats why it is used in many semis, buses etc. Ppl hate on ifs but the only downfall to them is you might have to upgrade the tie rods for pulls

  • i was brought up a chevy guy then i got an 85 f250.i like some fords and i like some chevys. one thing that seems to be a continous cycle is that ford always seems to be just a little bit better than chevy in one way or another.i understand this is very debatable but im guessing that f250 has a 351w in it and the chevy a 350 and th 351 is a better designed motor taller deck and more efficient cooling due to the equal exaust pattern out the head.chevy just has capitalized on interchangability

  • @devja71 that is'nt true your just trying to make your piece of crap ford's look good my dad had a 2005 f-150 and the one time we took it in the snow it got stuck because the 4 wheel drive wasn't working, and my uncles 94 ford has had to have the frame welded 3 times in 4 weeks of just driving and hitting bumps in the road so the ford's are the worst made vehicles on the road

  • @cars472 The one time always does it. Kids on the internet should not talk about vehicles they have never owned or driven. My Ford truck, van, and Explorer have always been great, and don't have a speck of rust on them, all of them are driven year round, and all have many, many miles. If your uncle broke the frame 3 times a month(which is impossible unless he can't fucking drive), he needs to have his license taken away.

  • @devja71 How right you are. All these GM biased magazines hype them up just because they all grew up working on them. That just means they were too stupid to know how to work on Fords. I have had to reinforce the frames on all my buddies trucks that drive 98 and older trucks. The 87 and older are the weakest. I have done numerous 1/2 ton to 1 ton swaps on Ford trucks and never had to reinforce any frames unless they were rotten out from years of exposure to cowshit which is acidic and eats metal
