@1misanthropist While I do like this song I personally thought it should only reached the lower reaches of the Top 10, my all time favorite Bob Seger song is "Against the Wind" which fortunately made the Top 5, "Night Moves" should also have been a #1 hit, interestingly you don't hear this song on the radio as often compared to his earlier hits, "Waiting For a Girl Like You" or "Double Vision" should have been Foreigner's first #1 hit single IMO, both of these songs reached #2 on the charts

@Doobie1975 "Against the Wind" holds the most meaning for me of all Seger's songs.( It's right up there with Skynyrd's " Simple Man".) "Night Moves" comes in 2nd and "Turn the Page" 3rd. ( Although Metallica's cover is slighty better IMO) However, I can think of 13 Seger songs that I like better than "Shakedown" even if it is his only #1. Ratings just don't mean crap to me.

Harold Faltermeyer made this song, and Patti Labelle's Stir It Up from the first film in addition to all the instrumental synth scores! the guy was a machine in the 80s.
