Dupont and all those should look at the riches they can gain by legalizing this plant. Medication for cancer and pain relief, construction products, clothing and textiles, foods etc etc etc. Its not just a "feel good" plant that is unadulterated that people enjoy to smoke, it could save our forests thus saving our wildlife crisis etc etc. Common people, use your brains (whats left of them too much use of oil derived products) and legalize it and lets save the planet and secure our future.
Forget it. DUPONT owns the law makers in this country. We could cut our oil dependancy probably by a 1/4 to 1/2, but Our GREAT LAWYERS/LAWMKERS WILL NOT HAVE IT, Because DUPONT gives huge campaign monies to keep them in business.
Very nutritious hemp seed oil is great food and if it were more economical I would eat it every day. Hemp milk made from the seeds here in Salt Lake must be imported and costs 4 dollars a quart or I'd be drinking it every day too. These artificial financial barriers are interfering with every person's natural rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, ALL THREE. Prohibition is killing. Add to the above, THC is shrinking cancerous tumors in University research labs around the world.
that's not hemp.. That's actual marijuana. It's the THC that does it.. does not cure aids, that is silly.. It has shown awesome potential with cancer, which is not being pursued properly!
@Earthlasthope but they could make money off the hemp its because of the older ppl which are there main votes do not believe in it because they think reefer madness was a true story and the hippie bullshit is the reason it is still not legal and did you ever think the environmentals are on a payroll 2 toyota maybe lithium battery producers hydrogen producers which hydrogen is the way to go but until we perfect that we will rely on oil but we will need hemp also but either way LEGALIZE IT!!!!!!
Mike Gravel (degree in economics from Columbia University) who is very much still in the Presidential race. He wants to legalize and regulate drugs, bring us alternative energy (windmills, maglev trains), off oil and gas in 5 years, carbon in 10, decrease military expenditures of $500 billion per year, repeal income tax for fair tax, provide health care - gravel2008 us His National Initiative would allow people to become lawmakers. We could have a national law legalizing hemp in USA.
High quality fiber and oil; hurds are 77% cellulose without lignin, requiring no toxic chemicals to process; compared to pine trees, 4 times more cellulose per acre over 20 years (USDA); best biomass source for ethanol and pyrolysis, requiring far less water and better on the land than corn; minimal pesticide and herbicide requirements...there's more...see Chris Conrad's book, "Hemp, Lifeline to the Future".
North Dakota could have not only the black gold oil, but wealth from hemp/marijuana also. If only people were more open minded to the obvious.
