I agree if it's an SS or a V6 with the RS package - those models come with Pirelli SUMMER PERFORMANCE TIRES. The non-RS has all season tires and I have NO PROBLEM driving in snow. Some people just need to learn how to drive.
if your not a complete idiot or awful driver you should be able to drive any modern car in the snow...go back 20 years or so and the majority of cars were rear wheel drive without any traction
It is amazing how well both the Camaro and it's rival, the Mustang, drive in snow. Modern traction control is awesome. I've seen a few videos from Alaska of a few Camaro and Mustang owners driving their cars around last winter.
I love camaros but this car IS NOT good in the snow.. it's nearly worse than the 3'rd gen camaro... in real situations not only do you have severe traction problems you also have clearance issues. The chances on you seeing me in one of these in the snow are worse than you seeing my 78 out in a blizzard.. it just shouldn't be done
@NasferatuTheImmortal Get full purpose snow tires, not the all seasons, they make a shocking difference. I use to drive very carefully on snow but with snow tires you can drive very aggressive and confidently.
@McFly2015AD snow tires helped when i was in NY, but in oklahoma they make nearly no difference because it's not snow here but ice, then slush that freezes into ice, then snow that melts the same day and freezes into ice. See my problem?

no camaro should be driven in the salt. camaros are for keeps. my 89 camaro has never seen salt and it might be 20+ years old, the paint is faded but there is still very little if any rust on it. if i would have driven it in the winter, first of all those wide performance tires, the limited slip diff, and the 350 v8 would be a little dicey. second of all the car would have been in the junk yard many years ago.
When it comes to snow tires get them as narrow as possible and with studs if you can. You'll never get stuck again even with RWD unless the snow is up to your bumpers :)
Trust me guys if you look at the tires in this video they aren't your normal stock tires. Its clearly winter tires and damn good ones too. Not sure what brand it is but as you can see the winter tires work on snow but it can be tricky when it comes to sleet and ice that's where your driving skills come in. Good luck if you are planning on buying a new Camaro pick up a set of Winter Tires.

went to university in ottawa in a '97 camaro. ottawa in winter is very a snowy, icy, freezing place. driving a camaro in winter is challenging and fun . . . if you can't do it you are a bad driver.

The SS is terrible in the snow. I have 245/20 pirelli scorpion snow & ice plus 300lbs sand in the trunk. It's not bad with the sand getting going but the front end corners like ass even at 10 mph.
SS would have a Limited slip more power and wide tires, lets see that in snow. I had a Z28 6 speed and 275/40/17 tires limited slip couldn't not spin the tires in the snow.

there is no RS camaro... There is only RS package..noob. so if you have the 2SS Camaro with RS package itd be a 2SS camaro with RS package. if you have a 2LT with RS itd be the 2LT with RS. if you dont then just 2SS and 2LT...

@ashton2gangsta That wasn't an RS camaro, that car had the optional 19" aluminum rims. Your RS camaro comes with Pirelli P zero's I think, and those are summer tires only. Get yourself some Toyo proxes 4!
@ashton2gangsta It's all in the tyres. I have a WRX STI and it was lousy in snow on standard tyres. Switch to proper winter tyres (as this video was obviously using) and any car can drive in snow. There are videos of Lambourghinis on Youtube managing in snow on winter tyres.

@meds Cheapest way to go is to try and find someone who bought the LS and changed the stock steel wheels to something "cooler" and buy the stock wheels. I've seen them on Ebay for like $800 for all 4.
I've been driving my 2000 Camaro for seven years now all year round. Not surprising that the 2010-2011 Camaro is just as good in the snow. Very well balanced cars. All you need is a good set of winter tires and a light foot.
I first had these tires when I got the car (19" Pirelli) but upgraded to the 20" RS ones. The all seasons were great tires! Good in rain, and whipped it in the snow for fun once haha. Sick video, even if it is just a "add". Get over it.
Perhaps, just maybe on the all season tires you get when you don't opt for the RS package. God help you if you try this with the RS's Pirelli PZeros. I went off the road (unsalted) going approximately 5 miles an hour! I know I shouldn't have even been on the winter roads with "summer" tires but my other transport was getting work done. My Camaro survived unscathed. But I will never drive it in the snow again!
@juniorcleff , You are right, I have the RS with the 20" wheels and it sucks in the snow. I proced all season tires the size I need at they were over $500.00 for just two. You have to get diffrent tires then what comes stock on the RS or you will go no where in the snow.
@CenasChainGang619 The Challenger is a car true to the 70 muscle cars. They are heavier beast but look really cool and will keep their value and coolness forever. The Camaro will not be nearly a classic as the Challenger.

I'm really interested in just the piano part and would download it or buy the CD in a heartbeat if we can figure out what it is.
Dumb commercial. Ya don't drive performance cars in snow. Period. Looked to me like it was carefully staged "around" a lot of snow on a carefully plowed track. I'm guessing if that car (or a Mustang or Challenger for that matter) wandered very far off the plowed part, it would have been dead stuck! Not much performance to be had when that happens. Like I said. DUMB COMMERCIAL! And that V6 exhaust note sucks too!
as much as I love the Camaro, I doubt that this thing is any good in the snow. RWD sports cars never do well. try coming to a full stop in that snow that this camaro was driving in and try to move... won't work lol.

I've been driving my 2000 Camaro for seven years now all year round. Not surprising that the 2010-2011 Camaro is just as good in the snow. Very well balanced cars. All you need is a good set of winter tires and a light foot.

I first had these tires when I got the car (19" Pirelli) but upgraded to the 20" RS ones. The all seasons were great tires! Good in rain, and whipped it in the snow for fun once haha. Sick video, even if it is just a "add". Get over it.

Where did you get all season for the 20"? The standard wheels that come with the RS are not all season, if they were they suck in the snow.

Perhaps, just maybe on the all season tires you get when you don't opt for the RS package. God help you if you try this with the RS's Pirelli PZeros. I went off the road (unsalted) going approximately 5 miles an hour! I know I shouldn't have even been on the winter roads with "summer" tires but my other transport was getting work done. My Camaro survived unscathed. But I will never drive it in the snow again!

@juniorcleff , You are right, I have the RS with the 20" wheels and it sucks in the snow. I proced all season tires the size I need at they were over $500.00 for just two. You have to get diffrent tires then what comes stock on the RS or you will go no where in the snow.

@CenasChainGang619 The Challenger is a car true to the 70 muscle cars. They are heavier beast but look really cool and will keep their value and coolness forever. The Camaro will not be nearly a classic as the Challenger.

@pasteface2000 Here's what I think is going on. There are two sound tracks being played. The first one is a sound fx track called Gold Medal Performance. That is being mixed with a piano piece. I'm really interested in just the piano part and would download it or buy the CD in a heartbeat if we can figure out what it is.

Dumb commercial. Ya don't drive performance cars in snow. Period. Looked to me like it was carefully staged "around" a lot of snow on a carefully plowed track. I'm guessing if that car (or a Mustang or Challenger for that matter) wandered very far off the plowed part, it would have been dead stuck! Not much performance to be had when that happens. Like I said. DUMB COMMERCIAL! And that V6 exhaust note sucks too!

as much as I love the Camaro, I doubt that this thing is any good in the snow. RWD sports cars never do well. try coming to a full stop in that snow that this camaro was driving in and try to move... won't work lol.
