  • shut up, its music. enjoy it, or go enjoy something else.

  • this hipster bullshit sounds like a pile of jizz

  • @chicknheadedhoodrats go listen to nickelback then.

  • @dunkinking at least nickel back is soulful music with good lyrics unlike these garbage bags

  • @chicknheadedhoodrats LOL. I just stumbled across Defiance, Ohio (so this is the first song I've heard). *Nobody* with a level head enjoys the music of Nickelback (1 word btw). Soulful music? Good lyrics? "I like the pants around your feet". Their songs are selling on the cheap, soulless inequities of daily life. Don't preach about something you are blatantly ignorant about. I would have to say Nickelchoad pales in comparison to D,O. Try again, degenerate.

  • @ijurcough Nickelback is the sound of our generation, their music is a cross between grace, beauty, and patriotism. It is a shame that your peanut brain lacks the capacity to understand such deep soulful music

  • @chicknheadedhoodrats nickel back.really.then why are you here?go fuck nickel back.

  • @chicknheadedhoodrats I got an idea, don't listen to it.

  • Ah, I see that punk is still a segment of society that all agree that they hate certain aspects of the system, but beyond that, their differences define where their collaboration ends, even though they have far more in common with each other then anyone else they could find.

  • are they touring anymore?

  • I listen to green day. :) have at me punkers.

  • @DrDarbyDavis Regardless, you should also like listening to Defiance.

  • @Soundoreo And I do :D just making the point that music shouldn't be taken so fucking seriously. Fuck punk, fuck rap, fuck classical and fuck grunge. I listen to MUSIC not the winey bitches screaming "PUNX FUR LIFE!" and saying anyone who listens to mainstream is a poser. I think that making a standard for a belief that states there should be no standards is kinda silly and contradictory and only makes the entire "punk" scene look silly and contradictory. Especially when punks are calling other

  • @Soundoreo punks posers for what they listen to. Didn't Op Ivy make a song about that? something about unity or something...

  • @DrDarbyDavis Well, to each their own. No other words can say it better. Except Yellow Card, that band sucks dick.

  • @DrDarbyDavis lol "green day's not punk!! they're too mainstream!!" obviously they have never heard anything before the 2000's. and if they're still bitching, just send them a link to a Foxboro show lol

  • STOP TRYING TO DEFINE PUNK YOU COCKNECKS

  • kind of sounds like modest mouse's early albums...hmmm

  • I wouldn't count screamo as "a wide variety of music" or even music at all pal. Also, I don't know where you got the absurd assumption I was punk. Clearly you didn't ready my first comment.

  • Comment removed

  • This coming from someone who listens to screamo? Haha, shut the fuck up dude.

  • folk punk?? you guys really calling it that?? whatever next? country punk, techno punk, there's far too many genres these days. 15 years ago this would of been called folk. would you call rebel meets rebel country metal?

  • Since when did Punk become non-judgmental? Punks are some of the most judgmental people I know.

  • @Gmancrap: Like you know any punks you fecking pansy.

  • Comment removed

  • Since when did it become so hard to meet punks?

  • Last I checked, one of the points of punk was to be accepting especially when it comes to different music. Since the beginning of punk, it never mattered what the sound was. From glam and garage rock of The MC5 and New York Dolls, the techno beats of Suicide and Devo, even to the indie/wave sounds of Television and Elvis Costello. Punk is not a good thing to fight over, especially when it comes to being called a poseur. Acceptance is punk and if you can't except this music then go fuck yourself

  • damnit, i finally find a good folk band and its considered folk punk. maybe my friends are right, i only get into punk anymore haha

  • I remember when i saw them, at firestorm Asheville nc... I loved it its like they were singing my whole childhood to me- all the good the bad- those scratched cds lulling me to sleep still at 14 i listen to them almost every day... they make me think the world has hope... it still may

  • If you listen to this type of music then type in "Robin Hood Folk Punk" ^^above^^

    dankuuuuu!

  • this is a good song

  • @got1inorange Actually, it's extremely punk to be judgmental, but okay.

  • Can't get enough of this song, it's great!

  • .... nobody cares what is and what isn't punk so shut up,

you're not impressing anyone with your 'great wisdom of the meaning of punk'

We just like the fucking song.

  • hypster folk punk - awesome

  • @theygotstuff hipster? well they were pretty far from hipster when I talked with them @ a show

  • Its things like pandora that introduce me to amazing bands like this :)

  • @nikel3161 What station were you on? I was on This Bike Is a Pipe Bomb radio when I found these guys.

  • @ChrisRayChrisRay i believe against me!, hey send me ur email in a message i wana share punk rock stations with u :) and i want some of urs haha

  • @paulbongiorno You are 35 and past the need for petty things like trends, you claim, but you are not past trivial, frivolous arguments with strangers on a YouTube video? You need to reassess, my friend. I don't think you're quite as grown up as you like to think.

  • sounds kinda like against me! or anti-flag's bright lights of america; at any rate it kicks ass

  • Come on guys, listen to yourselves. I'm pretty sure the "original" punks that you like so much wouldn't want you spreading hate in their name. If calling myself punk means that I have to shove my view of what "punk" is in other people's faces then count me out.

  • This is so awesome. I have really been digging folk/punk lately, seeing how it combines two of my favorite genres.

  • @paulbongiorno: I didn't even say that this pre-teen shit was punk. I just said you have no idea what punk is. It's saying "Fuck you" to trends and doing your own thing. If you want music that sounds like the ol' punk of the 70s, then you don't want punk music. You want a trend. You fucking poser.

  • @paulbongiorno: You clearly have no idea what punk is.

  • @paulbongiorno

    Trololololololo

  • Folk the punx!

  • This song is a pretty cool guy...

  • I jerked off 3 times in the last hour

  • @whitepeppers1 oh...

  • Some people feel it and some don't. I do. A lot.

    :D

  • haha, why are people comparing this to black flag? Black Flag- 80s Hardcore punk , Defiance, Ohio- Folk Punk, its different Genres people! So who cares, at the end of the day, theres only bad music and good music, so fuck off with what band is what genre!

  • Just because they dont sound liek The Exploited or JFA doesn't mean they arent "real"

    It's music, and escape.

    It's love<3

  • Comment removed

  • @DanteWolfen i'm not saying a little hippy circle of punk kids playing acoustics isn't punk , i'm saying there's no way you can logically compare defiance to black flag because they're not even in the same class. black flag paved the road and defiance are tippy-toeing down it like little indie fags.

  • Check out Blackbird Raum. AMAZING nihilistic folk band from Santa Cruz <3

  • @tra93

this bike is a pipe bomb is a pretty good folk punk band.

    also:

    mutiny amongst friends

    barefoot surrender

    common filth

  • Punk is a very broad spectrum of music. If you prefer "fast rebellious punk" there's plenty of that out there. No need to knock those who enjoy "folk punk." Or vice versa. Knocking other people's music tastte is silly. What do you think you're accomplishing? I mean, do you think that because you told me it wasn't punk enough for you that i'm going to give it up? The beautiful thing about punk is that it's meant to be whatever you need or want it to be that moment.

  • @TheCaytlin1 True punk, True Hardcore lives and My scene will bring it back, This Folk is killing it. Just my opinion. Were making bands as we speak True Punk isn't dead.

  • @tra93 That's great. I dig hardcore punk just as much as I dig folk punk. Folk isn't killing anyone's "hardcore" movement. It's an entirely different movement. Seperate. Irrelevant to you. There are people that enjoy one or the other and there are people that enjoy both. But the movements of each are individual. Good luck. We need more hardcore bands. Real ones.

  • Where is the Punk Part?

  • @tra93 right in front of you... just shut your mouth and open your eyes.

  • @MUTE8able Where is the hardcore part? why isn't this fast? I like Celtic-Punk but folk I Don't know.

  • @tra93 it doesn't have to be "fast" to be punk.... your comment backs everything the antifolk punk movement is all about... kids who think music has to be fast to be rebellious

  • @MUTE8able Punk is watered down, changed since 92

  • @tra93 Punk is about the message, not about how it's delivered. These guys hate capitalism, and sing about the downfalls of modern society. They're as punk as they come.

  • @masterohumans I thought it was some apathetic, Bike riding bullshit, I guess not then. Can you give me some good Folk Punk band's all I know is.

    Defiance, Ohio

    Ghost Mice

  • @tra93 Yeah hah, I thought that too at first but it's not. Johnny Hobo, and The Wingnut Dishwashers Union are two bands with the same dude in it, Pat the Bunny, he stopped Johnny Hobo after he decided to stop being so depressing. Another good one is Mischief Brew, thats about all I listen to.

  • Im going to make a judgement.

Defiance Ohio is the best band of all time period. end of fucking story. go fuck yourselves all of you!

i mean, the outcome's no more clear

  • "Just to feel that sense of home you lost when you left last year"

  • i dont like AJJ but i love Mischief Brew and Defiance....i miss Against Me i must say. Violent Femmes forever though

  • folk punk at its finest. thanks for uploading this.

  • This is what i call the lighter side of punk... like the Violent Femmes or Andrew Jackson Jihad.

  • @fetustium Andrew Jackson Jihad = Greatest folk-punk band EVER!

Defiance Ohio and Mischief Brew come in a close 2nd and 3rd

  • dont argue about the music, instead just listen to it, isnt that what it is here for? its not about the genre its about the meaning :D anyway i like this song :D

  • i've been listening to this song over and over again. i love the sound of it and i feel like i have a connection with it. :) my favorite lyric from this song: "distance is just a number on the dashboard." <3

  • PUNK AS FUCK

  • I don't understand why people find it amusing to argue about pointless opinions. If you like the music, listen. If you do not, then just choose songs you enjoy.

  • Siete semplicemente meravigliosi...grazie from italy

  • good music is good music, no one said you had to like it. if you dont like it then go to the search bar and find something else, everyone has different tastes in different things, i even knew someone who hated music, dont just say someone is a poser for something they like. besides, last time i checked, a poser was someone who said they liked something they really didnt, not someone listening to something they truly loved. bye :]

  • tra93 is the truest punker i have had the right to witness. congrats, man! seriously, i really can't fucking understand how people still whine about what's punk and what's not. punk is about attitude, not about HARDCORE GUITARS AND SHITZ. defiance, ohio's lyrics and their overall attitude are more punk than those of your average street punk band's. and if we wanna go to the sound, i'd define the singers' voices pretty "punk", too.

the punk rock "scene" fucking sucks, as do all other scenes.

  • @Kujalord Your Right, But Defiance, Ohio doesn't have the sound. Lyric's doesn't make the Punk band or ''Attitude'' it may for a person but not for a Band, for a band, the sound make's Punk Rock.

If the Attitude make's them a Punk band than Sum-41 could be a fucking Punk band, Attitude could make Me or you Punk but for music... No

And I couldn't care less what Punk is or About, I just love the music.

  • @tra93 punk is any thing you consider punk. sum 41 is punk to some people and lyrics make it punk sound doesnt matter

  • lol i live in defiance ohio

  • who fucking cares what genre it is?!!!! it's music whether you like it or not, and personally i do. if you dont like it, fuck off and go somewhere else.

  • hey i live in Defiance Ohio

  • This is Folk/Punk

  • nice to c this finally gettin some views great band

  • i like this song. but no joke i just fell asleep listneng to it,

  • anyone know the name of the girl singing in this song

  • @MrTonyr57 It's probably Sherry.

  • i got a tattoo today that says "distance is just numbers on a dashboard". i'm happy. i love them.

  • beautiful idea...defiance Is BOMB

  • @ohgeezitssammy that's a mad stupid tatoo hahahaaha

  • Comment removed

  • @ohgeezitssammy thats an amazing tattoo

  • @IIEnjoi thank you! :)

  • @ohgeezitssammy i read this comment just as that line in the song came up. it was awsome and i thought you should know haha.

  • lol

  • whatever, we dont live in the 80's hardcore scene anymore. this is punk, just as anything black flag ever put out. its for a new generation and open your mind. its not fucking punk to be judgemental

  • @tra93 Its Folk Punk. Last time I checked Folk Punk is a type of punk.

Nonetheless its nothing remotely close to punk rock, I don't think you should die but I do think you deserve a slap in the face for the misconception.

  • @tra93 so you should finish high school and realize none of that shit matters.

  • @tra93 haaa, what makes me a poser that i like defiance ohio. for your information im a pretty big crass fan. i love anarcho, i love crust, i love d-beat, hardcore, powerviolence, and folk fucking punk. i was called a poser in 7th grade for listening to the lower class brats. what do you listen to that makes you more punk than me? i dont embody a sterotypical punk with the jackets, studs or any of that. i dont even own any patches. all i know is that folk punk. is fucking punk as fuck!

  • @tra93 and even if it doesnt sound like black flag or bad brains its till punk. cause bad brains and black flag dont sound anything like aus-rotten or conflict. and aus rotten doesnt sound anything like the partisans

  • @got1inorange hipster name drop accomplished.

  • @OMFGJaysrsly hahahaha i was thinking the same thing

  • @got1inorange and partisans doesn't sound anything like the dead milkmen

  • @got1inorange I like the 80's hardcore and this

  • @got1inorange most punk thing ive heard all day

  • @got1inorange Is that person bad for judging someone, or is it you who is judging the judgmental person, OR is it me whose judging the person that judged the judgmental person?? Hmmmmmmmm.....

  • @Grotick Are you Jack Sparrow?

  • @got1inorange this is nothing compared to black flag , not even in the same fucking league! don't kid yourself , sunshine. BLACK FLAG > this.

  • @got1inorange its whatever you want it to be.

  • @maagonzalez888 i thumbed down you on accident. sorry! haha this new youtube layout is weird! the thumbs are hidden!

  • It's flippen Ohio, no dur it does.

  • Seriously dude?

Sometimes I can't get out of the house cause my door's blocked with snow

  • Use the windows?

    Anyway, it's a nifty song.

  • Living in Defiance ohio isn't great...trust me...I KNOW THIS I LIVE HERE!

  • living anywhere in the midwest in the must just be awful

  • yeah, the midwest fucking sucks. I love the northwest

  • what's bad about the midwest? o.O i mean, there's a bunch of prairie, like in illinois, but by chicago it's okay XD

  • not the Chicago part ;)

  • no dude its all about who you know, there are cool defiance fans everywhere, even in fucking D.C. where im from

  • you get used to it.

it's boring, but nice. people are friendly here.

  • This is my favorite Defiance song! Fuck!

  • aaahhhhhhh!!!!

    i luv it so much!!

    dude thanks so much :D

  • I absolutley love this band. Thanks a ton for upping this song, I've never heard it till just now!
