Excellent movie, a great adversary, but rather unrealistic ending. Everyone can see that Van Damme is on half power. It would kill the boy. Although the film shows how a teacher Bruce Lee, the main character knows nothing of his fighting style.

@MegaXorron well the character didn't know because the writers didn't know they were just cashing in. Many of the Lee moves in the fight in this were copied from documentary demonstrations. Like the two finger push up. As well as Lees movies. The fast punches and spin kicks were taken from Way of The Dragon, the flip kick and the final kick were from enter the dragon and the dodging was taken from fist of fury. However it does show a clever way to well choreograph the scenes during training.

Bruce Lee created Jeet Kune Do, a martial arts and philosophy practiced by many professional fighters and praised by them as well. Bruce Lee did one finger push-ups with one arm. His physical feats and victories in street fights can be verified by many spectators at the time. You don't have to like Bruce Lee, but insulting him and throwing out false facts is silly.

I loved this film when it came out...and I STILL LOVE IT. I'm a lifelong martial artist. Done Tae Kwon Do, Jeet Kune Do, Muay Thai, and Brazillian jiu-jitsu. The acting here is a little cheesy, but the fights are spectacular because they used REAL Fighters in many of the fight sequences, especially at the end.

I NEED TO KNOW, where did you get this version where Jason is remembering his training from Lee as he's fighting Van Damme? That's NOT in the theatrical version. Is this a Directors cut?
