I still like this classic British advert but since Britvic have started messing with the recipe (Artifical sweeteners with sugar in a NON-diet version - WHY?) I no longer drink my once favourite lemonade.
Hi Deadthing22. I can't answer your question but I did manage to find the following info on Brivic's website which might interest you. Ross McManus, the father of singer Elvis Costello, wrote and sang the original song, with his teenage son, providing backing vocals. The ad won a silver award at the 1974 International Advertising Festival.
I am extremely greatful for your information. I will somehow find it this way. I thank you! I hope you didn't go out of your way to look for it for me. Many thanks!
Hello Deadthing. Glad to be of assistance. Hope you find it. May be worth getting in touch with the PR section of Britvic . I came across this vid as I was rather bored and decided to search for Britvic. I worked for them for a short time in 1970. I also have fond memories of RW White's Lemonade and am a fan of Elvis Costello having first heard him on the Live Stiffs album which also featured Ian Dury with his remarkable rendition of`Billericay Dicky'. I was born and raised in Billericay :-)
You have no idea how much you've made me smile - thanks for posting this. I haven't seen it since I was a kid, and it's always been one of my all-time favoutite videos (was totally gutted when I first searched for it under 'R Whites Lemonade' and drew a blank - silly YouTube!). Anyways, many thanks and numerous kudos.
Thank you Ross McManus for giving us this everlasting tune and Elvis Costello RIP.

The man coming down the stairs is Rowan Atkinson. The glasses and wig give a good disguise.

The actor in this advert was Julian Chagrin. The advert was yet another memorable piece of work from Rod Allen of Allen Brady and Marsh.

asiannextdoor: The person who composed and sang the song is Elvis Costello's father (but it's not the actor).

I love it so much! :) The music is so catchy! Any idea where to get it or what it would be called?
