the bloody brits are the scum of the earth. they used banned in england oil dispersants off the u.s. coast & they harass people harmed by these chemicals who have sued these avaricious criminals. bp should be persona non grata worldwide:The brits haughty swagger stick mentality lack of empathy & distain of darker races was fostered upon subject peoples by force of arms, which violence & bigotry that was subsequently inculcated into American culture through European expansion in the New World
BP CEO's get paid what ???and cant even use common sence like uhhh *cave man voice* "shovel not pick up tar"....do these boobs use a shovel to clean a kitty litter box?...i think not
BP wants to shovel the shit with the sand because its MUCH more difficult for us to accurately estimate actually how much oil is being collected. Who is to say how much sand/oil mix is in their containers. For all we know its 99.9% sand being collected, and I wouldn't put it past them!
@bubcutus We actually made a Kitty-litter version for Telebrands, but they never got back to us about marketing it. The Shake'n Fork is much more sophisticated than that version though.
@samn100 As with any power tool, it should not be exposed to moisture. However, It is designed to be used after the high tide has receded and left the tarballs and oiled debris on the damp sand. If one had doubts on how effective the auto sifting function is, simply try to sift the compacted damp sand through the screen by shaking it manually. Without auto-sift, the screen makes a fork work like a shovel, it is fruitless to try to shake it by hand.
@Holymoley2010 The Equi-Tee forks are a stupidly simple idea, especially combined with bioremediation to get the hydrocarbons that are trapped in the sand and cannot be picked out. I saw the workers on TV tonite picking up 4 inches of sand for a couple of tarballs. How is that going to go on for weeks? There won't be any sand left!!! Ya gotta wonder why the CIC isn't calling...
COuld also just get large cat litter scoops for a lot cheaper, and replace them when they get too coated with oil residue (As I'm suer most cat scoops aren't made from the same oil-resistance plastic). BUt since you can buy many of them for less than $5, and they have the same sifting capability, why not just use them??
@danekjovax Good questions. The Flex'n Fork is a substitute for a shovel, a full length handle, full width basket. The pointed tines insert easily into the sand, can pick up large patches and small tarballs. The fork requires no jiggling to make the sand fall through. A cat litter tool is a short handle scoop so bending over is required. It is difficult to push the flat front into the sand. It must be jiggled to get the sand through, breaking up the tar balls, and it only picks small bits.
@firefly1tube Thanks for the reply. I like the design, but what I'm curious about now is have you gotten orders from BP and/or the Coast Guard or any contractors for these to help the cleanup? If not, let me know - I'll help hook you up.

see, even this man is smarter than those dumbasses at BP, shit he's cleaned up more tar balls in this video, than bp has in the last 40 days

This is ingenious, cause what BP is doing is cleaning out all of the sand, when they could just use this and clean the little sand that's in the tar.
If there is a way to flag this to BP, can someone do that please?

@hihid27 We have made a new video of our forks at work on the Gulf.
Search "Keep sand on the beach!" or check my other videos

it looks like a good way to pick up ANY kind of debris on the beach, but so would a rake.
