I just think this is the cutest tortoise ever, except maybe for my redfoot. I love how the torte so slowly bit down on that guy's shoe, with such determination. Heh, tortoises are surprisingly full of personality, and very determined. I have two living in my backyard, and both share the quirk of very much wanting to eat human toes. I've never let them try it (don't know how powerful a desert tortoise's jaw is) but I can hardly say how many times I've been "chased" by one of them around the back. Slow, but sneaky. Distract yourself long enough and one will be right underfoot again. Our landscapers couldn't stop laughing at how they were hunted by them.
